Between the high temperatures and the humidity, summer in Atlanta can feel like a swamp on the surface of the sun. Luckily, for 12 years running, the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival has given sweaty Atlantans a well-deserved break. This year the new ticketed tasting event Taquerias & Tequila will join old favorites like the 5K Run for the Park in a full schedule presented by the Grant Park Conservancy. With live music from Bradford Cox, the Wheeler Boys, Jungol, and other Atlanta favorites, a farmers market, an artists market, and a kids zone, there’s something for all members of the family — except Fido. No dogs allowed, which has got to be the only downside to what promises to be the summeriest and shadiest Summer Shade Festival to date.
