Oy- Well Oy, I just think that any kind of personal donation, be it individual or corporate, opens up the electoral system to corruption, among other factors. There has to be a way to fund the two parties plus the independent ones in a way that's equal and impartial. Donations unfortunately are just a bad way of handling it.
Mark - Good point about the Euro political systems. I don't know either how's it worked, but kudos to them for atleast trying to level the playing field.
"Speaking of buying elections, someone above mentioned George Soros, worse than the Koch brothers, but at least they own up to it..."

There we go again, wealth envy, no surprise. But the irony is if you look at the supporters of the left, they are as, if not more wealthy than the supporters of the right. A look at the richest members of congress will show they are over whelmingly Democrats, just the facts.
The best I saw was a picture of Hollywood types speaking out against "income inequality", someone took the time to add up the dozen or so stars income, and it was $800+ M. Speak of inequality... and irony ....

"How is putting commercials on the air "buying" an election. It's speech...free speech...pure and simple."
If you think paying $50,000 to get a 30 second spot on prime time is "free speech" you too have been absorbed into the collective.
