Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

"Just because he doesn't think oregano is not really exotic"

I've been trying to decipher this for a few minutes now.

Is it:

Just because he doesn't think oregano is really exotic

OR

Just because he thinks oregano isn't really exotic

OR

Did you just blow my mind?

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Because gastro-burgers are totally comparable to the civil-rights movement.

Uh.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

I'm sorry if you have no palate. Flip is an experience like none other. The burgers are truly exquisite. Each one is like a symponhny for your mouth. So excuse those of us who enjoy dressing nicely and hanging out with others who do, but please don't drop your bigotry on us with labels like "Foodie." This reminds me of what one of my best friend's grandparents must have gone through when they first tried to walk through the doors of that college all those years ago. And please do not even think of challenging Richard's credentials. He is classically trained and forward thinking. Just because he doesn't think oregano is not really exotic, people like to attack him. If you don't like Flip then perhaps you should go to Birmingham where apparently the Triple Whopper is still considered splurging on a meal.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Tough crowd. Visited the midtown location today, and while I won't plan a vacation around it, I will go back. The lamburger was moist and the fries tasted fresh and had a great texture. The nutella milkshake was worth the drive on its own.

This may not rival H&F or Bocado, but it's a good burger, folks. And I for one appreciate the efforts at creativity.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

It definitely gets packed, but I'm not sure why. I've been disappointed a couple of times by their simpler burgers, served barely warm, and soggy fries. Its definitely overpriced. I've had slight better success with their more creative burgers, but won't be going back.

I'm curious about the Daquiri Factory - is it an army of shills that pastes its virtues on every inch of bandwidth possible? Or just one shill that works really really hard?

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Wow, you guys sure are a bunch of haters. I was at the B'ham location on Saturday before noon and the entire place was packed. There was a considerable wait by the time we left. I agree it's pricey, but I don't think the food is near as terrible as described above.

Blais is not a real chef, he just plays one on television...............

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Apparently, many patrons' cars are getting booted due to confusion about what establishment's customers get to park where... beware!

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

My friend and I are in the over 65 stage of life, and were completely turned off by not only the overly "topped" burger, but also by the robotic waiters and noise level of the trying to be a hip foodie kind of place. We will never return.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Try the Classically good straightforward Factory burger at The Daiquiri Factory on West Peachtree at 7th. Affordable prices and adult beverage make it even better. Check out the menu on their Facebook page.

Somehow this make me think of the Taco Bell in "Demolition Man." My sentiments are in line with those of Chuckie on this one. How about "FLIP-OFF Burger" as a moniker instead?

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

I went to the original FLIP location with a date a few months ago. We split the Korean short rib burger and the Farm burger I believe. The meat on both burgers, once you removed all the other toppings, tasted the same. To top it off, the Korean burger is a hefty $15.

Just another trendy spot in ATL that quickly loses it appeal.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

I happened to eat at the Birmingham location today and was completely unimpressed. At 12:30 it was empty, 2 people at the counter and 4 tables occupied so obviously the Blais name doesn't reach outside Atlanta.
Tried the Farm Burger and Lamb and they were both tasteless. The lamb managed to deposit a puddle of red juice on my plate and yet be completely dry at the same time. Agree with your assessment of the fries, mine were soggy and bland. The only thing that tasted good was the smoked mayo served with the fries.

Re: “FLIP Burger Boutique Buckhead

Ouch. I've been there twice and I was just thinking when I saw your post's headline how good I thought everything tasted. I've had the duck burger (not on the menu last time I was there) and the butcher's cut and found my dishes to be seasoned to my taste and a nice, complementary mix of flavors. To each his own though...
