Tried Tantra's food for the first time last Friday night. I was more than pleased.
I sat at the bar and had a couple glasses of the recommended Pinot Noir (which was great), then tried the salmon tacos and mushroom risotto pakoras appetizers as my meal. They were delicious! Salmon tacos were very fresh, and both were accompanied by tasty sauces that had just enough spice. I ended with the creme brulee..Amazing! Chocolate bottom on the dessert was a great twist!
I will never forget when we went out to this restaurant and all five of us got jumped by the staff . They called us faggots and spit on us . I will never forget it and what is even worse is they are still in business. They pushed my friend out the door and punched him in the head. They threw shit at us . Talk about a gay hate crime!!!!!!!!! I I hate them all!
I ordered a gyro and a supposed "Philly" gyro through Go Waiter a couple of nights ago and was VERY disappointed.
Neither had much meat and were mediocre sandwiches, at best. I turned the supposed Philly gyro inside and out in attempt to determine what was different about it such as would warrant any reference to a Philly sandwich, and found nothing.
Instead of an appropriate amount of meat, both sandwiches were COMPLETELY covered up in black olives, instead.
Last but not least, each of these SMALL sandwiches cost 9 bucks each, but did not even come with chips.
Pathetic food at a rip-off price; NEVER AGAIN!!
As Winter approaches I am really beginning to miss Feast and the great food and
fabulous ambiance. I really loved sitting at the bar in front of the fire from the
wood burning oven. Feast owners and staff, know that you have left a hole
in the Decatur dining scene
The food is not so great.. It's not so fresh and the dishes are made days earlier.. Lot of other best restaurants exist..!
It's amazing kebobs.. But the menu is short and lacks surprises! But the dishes are amazing!
I have too be going to Feast since it opened. My husband and I really love this place! I'm surprised at Danr's review, because though every restaurant has the odd day when the chef has a hissy fit or the some of the wait staff fail to turn up, we have found Feast to be uniformly welcoming, with friendly staff, a wonderful cosy atmosphere and really great food.
Our favorite inexpensive date night: The duck and blue cheese pizza with dried cherries and a bottle of red at the bar.
Great food, great service, I love it
4 star meals, and a 4 star man, He will always serve you his best.Once you know him you will never forget him,and once he knows you he will never forget you. Best meal made by the best man in town...TRUST ME ...I KNOW...He has always made me the best....Love him dearly, signed: A co-worker...and best friend I ever had.
I love this place. Food is good and it have a genuine nice vibe with a chill and diverse crowd. Maybe it's how they do in Turkey, but... he just kind of makes up the prices and sometimes I think he gets a little enthusiastic about it. Nice guy though and the food is well made and fresh.
Being Decatur residents, we have eaten at Feast several times over the past few years and we have seen the quality and the service decline with each visit. We will never return after our last very disappointing experience there. We took some of our OTP friends there that wanted to eat in Decatur. Our reservation was for 7:45 PM, and we sat down at 8:15 PM. We did not get our entree until 10:00 PM. Once arrived, they were warm to cold. The waiter kept asking "how is everything, delicious?" which made the negative experience even worse. The manager never came over to apologize. At $25 an entree, I expect better food and better treatment. Well ... one less restaurant to choose from in Decatur.
You have to try Kybele's veggie burger! It's the best I ever had! It tastes amazing. The location is very relaxing right by the the town square. Kybele's is defiantly worth a try.
I've been to Social many times for lunch and dinner and the food -- an interesting mix of french and north african -- has always been great.
My faves are the steak frites and the lamb tagine. Also, last time we went there for lunch my wife got the Pain Bagnat sandwich and it was the best version of that sandwich I've had.
The staff knows a lot about the menu and the wine list. The atmosphere is nice but in an approachable way. It feels like the kind of nice neighborhood restaurant you usually find in Midtown -- like Pura Vida or Fritti. Very cool to have a spot like this downtown.
I don't know what those peeps are talking about, this place is not crowded and is definitely romantic. The food is top-notch and rivals any place in Atlanta in terms of quality vs. value. Christopher is right - try the pinchitos, and the sizzling calamari is extremely authentic. They've been around for at least ten years, and I've been going there for most of the them. Most other Decaturites would agree with me that they are the best place in the area. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal with no kids running around. Great wine list, which includes a huge number of Zins. Service is top-notch. Parking is a challenge, but it's that way everywhere in downtown Decatur.
After reading last week's creative loafing mention of their couscous, the wife and I went Saturday. It was really nice - the food exceptional given the low prices, excellent wine list. The deserts (tart tatin with rosemary ice cream) and my mistral cocktail (lavender vodka with port and lime) were VERY sophisticated and well done. We'll be returning for sure.
Are u all open this Wednesday 12/23? If so, what are your hours and dress code? Also do you have to reserve seating for a party of 6?
I could eat at Nick's every day of the week. Love their (Nick & Elena) gyros and pasticcio. You might even run into Iron Chef Kevin Rathbun. Not much to look at, and the neighborhood is rough, but the food is great!
RUDE SERVICE, SLOW SERVICE, good food
Fantastic review Besha! After reading it, I had to try this place. You described everything I want from a dining experience. And believe me, I was not disappointed!
I was so impressed by the staff, so knowledgeable and helpful and laid back. The food was interesting and delicious and so well priced. It did feel very "euro" which is a nice change from a lot of the Atlanta scene. I will definitely be back soon!
