Callanwolde is a beautiful historic landmark of the neighborhood that has been providing arts education and public outreach to the community for over 40 years. The grounds are a perfect place to see some live jazz under the stars! I would highly recommend catching one of the great performers during Jazz on the Lawn concert series.
We here at the Dragons Den are building a reputation for great vibes and an organic and friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Shows are growing as word spreads and we are working to build a scene of intelligence and proactive individuals who will aid in carving a new way for the future. We encourage people of all ages to come to shows here and to converse with one another. We want to hear about what your interests are, your talents, and activities. The goal is forging a network where we can help one another realize our dreams as a collective, and we want you!
Plays are obsolete. Everybody wants to be in the movies -- you've got something to show for it afterwards. That said, the place is well-run. Acting classes, a schedule, etc. Checked out the acting class, didn't think much of it. This obese gay guy with a nasty attitude who seem to think his meaningless exercises have something to do with acting -- they don't.
THE PRESENT DAY RUTH PLAY
the Present day Ruth play is a must see for all ages, especially Men and Women going through everyday struggles with the flesh and spirit. The battle of the mind is a war zone. the story is told with dance, up moving and lifting drama for all peers.
BEST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET!!! HOOKLOVE!!!
It was an honor to hear both Atlanta's Indigo Girls and the legendary Joan Baez together. The Girls started the evening promptly at 7pm and did a long 14 song set, lots of old favorites like Amy Ray's impassioned GO, and Emily Saliers' The Love of Our Lives, which she used to express the need for immigration reform, seeking to keep families from being split up by national boundaries. The Girls have been touring with a young band from ATL called the Shadowboxers, and they did an admiral job to round out the sound as their back up band throughout the set. The ladies graciously let them take thr stage for a solo band tune which helped promote their new CD. Good energy and joyful playmanship. Then a break before Ms. Baez graced the stage with the magnitude of historical reverberence and hushed the chatty Chastainers and brought them to their feet. This lady actually marched alongside MLK during one of the most turbulent periods of our country ' s timeline and has fought for equality and social justice since the late 50's. An amazing presence to behold. The encore ended with special request from an audience member and she led all of us in singing The Band's the Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. It was a stirring moment to sing this with Atlantans and a blessing to be in their midst for a truly memorable evening of music history. Beautiful. Thank you Atlanta, and thanks Amy and Emily!
I saw a performance by this dance company last year and it was amazing! The next best thing to a Cirque Du Soleil show in vegas.
Great place to spend an evening! Great atmosphere! Great people! And great laughs! Just great all around!
You and your guests can purchase $5 discount tickets at SkullFestival.com with the promo code SFIVE (And if that code runs out, use the code STEN for $10 tix!)
This place is gorgeous! The cabins are luxurious, the scenery is beautiful and the folks know how to have a good time. And what I really like about Sassafras Ridge is that it's a privately owned property and our party lasted until the sun came up the next morning. Nobody tried to shut us down for loud music.
This will be an amazing event!
Bring your Hazmat Suits, we’re going nuclear this Saturday 2/11 at Relapse Comedy Theatre.
Hosted by the adorably awkward Taylor Peterson and Creative Loafing's 2012 Lust List Hottie Rachel Town Pope.
First, IN HARM’S WAY takes the stage with their in-yo-face brand of topical improv that’ll prove the Mayan are right about 2012.
Then in CAPPS AND ME, Adrian Monte and Steve Capps unite for the first time ever to produce a comedy explosion that will undoubtedly registrar on the Rictor Scale.
And to close out the show, FIRST CUT will raise the roof and blow the walls off the building with their improvised action film. Guaranteed to kick your ass while you laugh it off.
The REAL location of Atlanta Bass Gallery is 4451 Atlanta Rd, Ste 124, Smryna, GA 30080. That location via google maps is actually a scooter store....
The quality of this venue and the comedic talent exceeds any expectations you may have for a comedy show. Ben's Gypsy Comedy Show is the place to be on Tuesday nights.
Awesome place. Great comedy - not too long of a show. Good drink specials and an awesome looking room. Definitely going again.
The zip code is 30009
