Just when you thought Georgia's wingnuts couldn't get any crazier...
Of course we should. Bonds are the normal way we pay for lasting infrastructure; civic assets designed to last for years should be paid for over time, rather than coming out of a single year's revenue. Operating budget and capital budget are logically distinct.
Not that logic ever moved the Tea Party Republicans.
"Bloated, paunchy, laughable combover. I swear, there's a machine that spits these goobers out."
The machine is called the "College Republicans." You remember the creepy kids in the suits and the tables with anti-government propaganda? Today, while the rest of us are struggling to make a living they ended up running the government.
Do you think the Ga legislature will revive the bill where former mental patients can now get guns? Won't that make things interesting...
"I do not have the capability to stop the gun lobby at the Georgia General Assembly and I'm not going to put my energy there," said Reed.
And God forbid he say he would if he could, that wouldn't go over out there in the 'burbs and down south on the farms.
This man will be and say whatever he thinks it will take to get to where he wants to be.
Jason Carter on the other hand seems to think saying nothing gives him a shot a the Governor's Mansion.
Naked ambition and golly can I sneak in by the back door is all the Democratic Party has these days.
Ummm…aren't the state employee health plans already fully qualified under the Affordable Care Act anyways?
The ban doesn't seem to be necessary.
Ive got 99 problems but...
A problem that a hip hop artist has, that I also have and can relate to...
is not one.
I dont know why anyone is concerned about the safety of downtown. There is an army of highly trained hospitality and security specialists patrolling the streets on battery powered chariots.
City of Atlanta event spent an extra $2,000 to equip each Segway with extra cargo space to hold blankets that have been confiscated from the dangerous vagrants that roam and sleep on our streets.
Atlanta's Christmas Miracle would be for a question like this to be posted and not have a bunch of racist, scaremongering nonsense posted in the comment section. Doing pretty well so far, how long til the 25th?
Isn't this the type of legislative initiative that led to the War Between the States, and don't we all (y'all?) know how that turned out?
Here's the link to contribute to them: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/please-h…
doria, PLEASE keep us posted on this situation. such a travesty all the way around. i'm glad you were able to get some FB PR out of this at least. as a matter of fact, i would love to collaborate with you sometime. where can i send my material? what's your email address? should i just come by your store?
as for the 2nd story, if the former postal worker truly said, "I'm going to go postal on this carrier" because he considered his postman unfit to perform his daily tasks, then he should win some sort of award for meta-craziness.
finally, a hip hop artist with problems i can relate to.
This is such a cool idea and the performance is great (I've been twice) but unfortunately the hipster douches that turn out for the show talk loudly over the entire performance (and pretty much any performance at the EARL).
I'll never understand why people pay to stand in the venue part of the EARL and talk to their friends the entire time. Save yourself the money and stay in the bar. But I suppose that if you are at the bar you can't post on Instagram to prove "you were there".
PG - you could offer to help them instead of critiquing them, since you seem to know so much more about websites... Running a small business is hard enough, and fancy websites are expensive. The new management at LBM is fantastic, running front and back of the house as a family and keeping Paul's vision in place. Why not put some positive energy into the universe instead of anonymously being mean?
are there no workhouses!- no debtors prisons ? ( private of course)
WORK MAKES YOU FREE!
Are these assholes serious? ITS FEDERAL LAW!!!!
Did they steal the sexy firemen calendars, too?
Doubtful that they consider that many models probably enjoy being in the calendars and, you know, modeling.
I guess the lobbyists are now giving out prescriptions instead of money.
Hi this is Doria Roberts, the person who received the letter from a stalker.
First, the letter was signed. Not sure where you got that it wasn't. This person has also sent unsolicited snail mail and e-mails so I actually do know who it is by name.
Second, the officer who came to the store said they could be using a false name and address after I showed a picture of the package I sent back but it's unlikely they are in my opinion.
Third, I not only printed out a picture of that returned package, I gave them a copy of the letter and all e-mails I'd gotten as well so also not sure how you got this: "In fact, she chose not to tell police a single word of text from the letter and did not provide any other identifying information, such as a description of the handwriting."
Um, nope. So very, very just...wrong.
Also, I read the letter over the phone to the Zone 6 officer on duty who is the one who told me to call 911 back and get an officer sent out. He said it sounded threatening to him and enough to warrant getting a case number.
This person has also come into the store and stole my CD from the display we have set up but we didn't know it was her until we finally found her picture on line.
I also never told the person to stop contacting me. Never said that to the cop. What I said is that I told her not to send unsolicited song material, which she had in hopes of "collaborating".
The cop actually has the e-mail I sent to her.
But, thanks so much for "reporting" this because if this is how he wrote up my case file I will be following up.
If it's *not* the way he reported it and it's the way you chose to report, then...really?
I'll find out either way and "report" back on my music Facebook page. Keep an eye on it, Lauren: http://www.facebook.com/doriarobertsmusic
Because, while I can appreciate needing hits on your blog to stay relevant, I won't let this incident (that scared the crap out of me by the way) be fodder for that.
Again, I hope you were just reporting what was given you but, if you edited this in any way to make me look not credible, you'll be hearing about it...
For what it's worth, thanks for bringing the way my case reported to my attention because if this is the way it was reported it is problematic and is probably why women in the city get terrorized and killed by stalkers more often than not.
