Re: “‘Ex Machina’ explores the soul of a new machine

It's really good as long as you ignore the Isaac Asimov universe.

Re: “First Slice 5/3/15: Ga. 400 is metro Atlanta's most innovative and backwards roadway

Actually the residents of Forsyth are paying for the expansion themselves through a bond refrendum that they passed last November to increase taxes on themselves. So its really not State Funded Sprawl but rather people deciding to pay for the real cost of infrastructure than relying on the federal and state government.

Re: “Activists: APD should immediately release camera footage in Alexia Christian police shooting

While I agree every police shooting should be investigated thoroughly, I'd think there would be more concern about why this woman's life turned out the way it did. But I guess not......

Re: “Activists: APD should immediately release camera footage in Alexia Christian police shooting

Do these activists demand that felons convicted of multiple violent crimes serve out their terms?
Bother to read up on candidates views of reforming the criminal justice system before voting?
Request the APD be properly equipped?

-I'd wager they do not.

Re: “Save WRFG

WRFG also broadcasts an animal rights program. You definitely won't hear that on commercial stations that are funded by big ag and other companies that exploit animals. WRFG gives a voice to the voiceless - human and non-human. Truly a rare station. I donate regularly and hope others will too. Check out Second Opinion Animal Rights Radio on Wednesdays at 6 PM.

Re: “First Look: Illegal Food

The Banh Mi ($14.50) is a burger-like version of the chef's favorite Buford Highway snack from Quoc Huong.

and costs $10 more than a banh-mi at Quoc Huong.

Overpriced nonsense.

Re: “Fast food fight

"1/2" of rain over a 1500SF roof will provide 900 gallons - not much for a month and a mere gesture if a garden must be watered.

_______________________________________________________________

Are you kidding or are you so concerned with "scoring debate points" that you refuse to acknowledge reason? 900 gallons a month per house would greatly reduce any water bill, but would be particularly helpful in drought stricken Southern California during the dry months.

Re: “First Slice 5/3/15: Ga. 400 is metro Atlanta's most innovative and backwards roadway

New lanes in Forsyth on GA 400 = State Funded Sprawl or trying to push more sh*t down a clogged drainage pipe.

"'Do not cast your pearls...' When you run out of reasoned arguments you transfer to insults."

Just as when the phrase was originally spoken, there was no insult intended. I was merely saying it would be a waste of time for me to explain how to address climate change to you if you refuse to recognize the science behind humankind's role to the phenomena. Really, what would be the point?

"Reducing regulations is not deregulation. Deregulation is removing all regulations."
_________________________________________________________

"DEFINITION of 'Deregulation' The reduction or elimination of government power in a particular industry"

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/deregu…

Now you are getting silly. In your mind seeking truth seems to be taking a back seat to "scoring points."

"'Are you sure you're not a UGA booster?' - When you run out of reasoned arguments you transfer to insults."

LOL. On reflection, I thought you might take that as the ultimate insult. That is why I almost immediately wrote:

"OK, I take back that part of my last post, my friend. I know we have had our share of disagreements, but I'm pretty sure you consider that hitting below the belt!"

Doesn't it get boring for you to be so predictable?

Re: “Fast food fight

@ Mark from Atlanta
""Are you sure you're not a UGA booster?"
When you run out of reasoned arguments you transfer to insults. Typical Mark diversion tactic.

"Take 1/2" and multiply it by the square footage of the average roof then tell me it would not reduce water usage."
1/2" of rain over a 1500SF roof will provide 900 gallons - not much for a month and a mere gesture if a garden must be watered. And don't forget some water in the rain barrel evaporates every day.

"Do not cast your pearls...".
When you run out of reasoned arguments you transfer to insults. Typical Mark diversion tactic. Answer the question.

"Both are very labor intensive. "
The amount of labor involved is not relevant. As the cost of water increases, owners with landscapes will be incentivized to xeriscape.

"Look at #6, Broch: "Reduce regulations regarding use of grey water for landscaping, gardening etc. Many municipalities currently ban grey water use."."
Reducing regulations is not deregulation. Deregulation is removing all regulations.
And banning grey water use is not a bad thing. Owners who install grey water systems in buildings often bypass them after occupancy because they are a maintenance and operational headache. Owners who take grey water for cooling tower makeup frequently regret it and switch to potable municipal water.

Re: “Cut and run

I agree with "c" and "STOPCRAPPYJOURNALISM". Ms. Keating clearly has an agenda. I thinks the apprehension of a crazy person armed with a knife in hand by Taser is a text book case of good police work. Earlier this year a crazy man was gunned down by police in Arizona the exact situation.

Re: “APS files lawsuit to gain full control of four vacant school deeds

As much as I read about our reformer of a new school superintendent and our visionary mayor, they seem to be two young politicians stuck in the same stupid rut as every old politician that came before them. Egos and lawsuits.

Re: “First Slice 5/4/15: Sheriff Victor Hill involved in accidental shooting — and not cooperating with police

You know, this happened to me just last week - I was looking at a house to buy and shot the showing agent in the stomach. When the police arrived, I told them that I didn't want to discuss what happened and then got in my car and just drove away from the scene. And they let me!

Happens all the time.
