Not surprising at all.. Most of America is a sprawling-strip mall dotted-suburbia speckled-freeway.
I had to look at Doria's Facebook page. While stalking as a practice should be taken more seriously, I find it odd and somewhat unsettling that this thread, this thread here on the comments section of Creative Loafing's blotter section has already been recounted and dramatized in Doria's most recent FB post (including mention of the bully "troll"). I mean c'mon. Your name was never mentioned in the CL blotter section, which is in no way any kind of legitimate public record. Or a story. Or an article on you. Why chime in with these long, detailed responses? I genuinely hope you're not in any type of danger, but it does seem like you're using your predicament to get extra attention.
1. Capital gains tax relief
2. Walton grantor retained annuity trusts tax relief, (this alone saves the top 1% a $100 BILLION dollars in taxes because they can avoid the gift tax)
3. Mortage interest tax relief
4. Puerto Rican tax shelters which have ZERO taxes on cap gains and ZERO taxes on interest and dividends, which are not only taken advantage of by the ultra rich, but also hedge funds.
I could go on, but I think more people are interested in Northwest Kardashians eyebrows and when Miley Cyrus is going to twerk on national tv again.......
I think a better thing would be to get the myth out of jack kingston's head that trickle down economics is a viable plan for a society.
"As elected officials we are bound by oath to uphold the Constitutions of Georgia and the United States, and the refusal to permit state resources to be utilized in the implementation of Obamacare is a necessary step to maintain our oaths, Ok, as a Georgia citizen, tax payer and voter I am of the position that these 'Good Old Boys" have no qualms about wasting tax payers money with theses bills which will (if passed) surely lead to long drawn out expense law suites. you are bound to uphold United States Supreme Court Rullings
In our race to be the best Hunger Games we can be, Kingston's (or one of his pal's) little tour bus shuttle to the north end of Cumberland Island has a'ways to go to rival the sleek bullet train ride (elite only allowed) to The Capitol from the poverty-ridden Districts portrayed in the fictional popular media. But hey, it's a great start! He's clearly working off the latest R master plan to let the kids of America shoulder the burden of a bloated government. That, or more likely he's just working from whatever stupid he pulls out of his own dumb arse.
Meanwhile, Kingston and the rest of the "do nothing congress" keep sucking off the government's teat.
Let's hope AG Olens presses criminal charges. Slapping Fulton County with consent orders, administrative hearings, and fines punishes the taxpayers, not the perpetrators. Putting the perpetrators and their enablers in jail will get their attention.
Just read this on the Saporta Report in the article "MARTA defies the odds — seeks new metro partners as it improves service," which helps explain Dallas and Houston's position a little better:
"One of the most important slides Parker showed the audience was how metro Atlanta stacks up against the cities that are our top competitors — Dallas and Houston. At this point, those cities have transit systems with about the same number of stations and miles as Atlanta. But those cities are investing about $400 million a year on capital projects compared to MARTA spending about $100 million."
While the kids who have money don't have to do a fucking thing. But hasn't it always been such in our fair nation?
How can HongKong rank so high given that it is often blanketed with China's notorious pollution, especially in the winter because of China's reliance on coal for heat and energy?
Neither will anyone else, since there reasoning is entirely opaque.
The writer of this article should be ashamed of herself. It's bad enough that the tone of the email was "victim blaming" but to write lies is reprehensible. Stalking is a serious matter and this blogger should have known better and so should her managing editor.
Extremely disappointed in CL.
Not really understanding how Dallas, Houston, and Miami outrank Atlanta, or how LA outranked Portland, but okay.
Doria, based on the findings from the officers report (that it does not match this story above), I would look into taking this person who wrote it to court for slander/libel. There is no factual basis that she wrote this on, it appears. Seems like a bit of a hack job. She probably should have minded her own business or perhaps thought for a minute what it would feel like if your situation where, God forbid, true.
Hey, y'all didn't cover the latest Cobb Braves-related tax story.
Cobb Schools, famous for laying off teachers, are rightly miffed at the Cobb Developers' Authority trying to throw away $8mm of tax to keep their buddies happy at a development near the new Braves dump around Cumberland. So much for the vaunted economic impact of the Braves for the average Cobber, if any benefit is thrown straight back to the money-boy developers. Don't need no stinkin' teachers, anyway.
The solid waste team have been the unsung heroes of the city in recent years. They do a great job keeping to their pick-up schedule and they're friendly and courteous. Mr White was presumably part of the reason for the team being as good as they are. Belated thanks and condolences to those who have lost a worthy friend.
"It's not the stadium, it's that a black man is making it happen."
Well after the next elections, we won't be concerned about that......
I'm amazed that Keating didn't bother to talk to the musician for this story. Instead, she made up new "facts" that aren't in the report and wrote a gossipy, blind item that not only discounts the victim here but also deliberately tries to make her look bad (which is libel, by the way). Even Keating's editor says that Keating didn't "have the report she saw right."
I hope the officer who wrote the report gets on Keating's editor to set the story straight. I hope that Creative Loafing Atlanta prints a correction (it's probably too much to hope that they do away with the entire poorly-written Blotter). And, Doria, I hope that this situation gets better for you -- I'm so sorry you're now dealing with harassment from a crappy reporter as well as a mentally unstable fan.
Rest in peace Mr white, you were such a great role model
