Nice job Gavin. Relevant questions.
This is CNN! Ted Turner did a lot for southern business. He found the right guys to make it work...one being Roger. Good job Roger. Live TV News is a tough work.
I think that this interview should be shared with J-school students.
Great show! Relevant themes. Appeals to everyone. Looking forward to seeing upcoming episodes.
There are regulations up the ying-yang governing productions and they were ignored by people in charge of this production and this camera unit. It was negligence and human error, pure and simple, and we don't need a flurry of politicians posturing and wanking their way through idiot responses to non-problems.
This show is funny to me. I don't know where all of the "controversy" came from. Black folks complain about not being represented or represented poorly on TV but then a show with a two-parent household and well-behaved kids comes on and now it's a problem too? Also found it ironic that most if not all of the people who had something bad to say about the show either didn't watch it or only watched a preview. Hope this show sticks around, it can only get better. Shoutout to Ronda.
georgia needs to start enacting regulations around the film industry here... they were attracted by the fact that georgia is relatively free of regulations and a tax haven, but for the safety of all involved i think the state legislature needs to tackle this issue.
"Rayonier Performance Fibers, which owns the land around the tracks and trestle, reportedly says it had granted permission to the production."
Rayonier granted access through their property to the CSX right of way, but had no control of access into the CSX right of way. The right of way is private property and access is controlled and enforced by the CSX police department.

“he committed suicide”
“[with] self-inflicted gunshot wounds”
"I’m the wrong person to ask about popular culture", former newspaper editor, Jerry Ceppos
“Contras… had smuggled cocaine into the United States and, through drug dealers, fueled an inner-city crack-cocaine epidemic.”
“...crack cocaine was swallowing up [black] neighborhoods whole, fueling an epidemic of addiction and crime.”
How do they know Gary Webb committed suicide ? Has that been confirmed ?
How does someone commit suicide with more than one shot ?
Jerry Ceppos was editor of a municipal newspaper, yet he’s unfamiliar with popular culture? Then he wasn’t fit to be an editor of any newspaper.
The Reagan administration began the degeneration of what had been thriving and upwardly mobile minority neighborhoods.
'Kill the Messenger' will vindicate investigative journalist Gary Webb
Good thing this last guy is peaceful....
The major politicians & agencies are minions for the ruling elite. The so called war on drugs is like the so called war on terror. Both are huge scams that help insanely greedy & organized men get more money & power. The biggest scam of all is the military industrial/congressional complex fueled by the permanent war economy, the #1 obstacle to world peace. A growing number of people are becoming aware of this & the truth is setting them free (from believing the lies).
"The time for war has past." Maitreya, the World Teacher
The CIA complicity in drugs as revealed by Gary Webb is only the tip of the iceberg. Over a dozen CIA, DEA, former drug traffickers, provide details of worldwide CIA complicity in drugs in the book, America's Corrupt War on Drugs, by Rodney Stich. This subversive conduct had to be known by DOJ personnel; members of Congress; NSA and the other intelligence departments. Since the American public was traumatized by these events, what does that say about America's leaders!! And media cover-ups!! Are the American people the feeding trough?
Thanks for this article - we're looking forward to seeing the film.
BTW: Here's an Interesting article about Gary Webb's life & death
SAYING GOODBYE TO A GIANT Michael C. Ruppert
Just saying hi to all My North carolina friends who are moving there to take those jobs and sending their money to their real homes in nc
It is pretty cool that Atlanta 'gets' this.
(The Fox is showing Dr. Strangelove 7/24, would make a nice subversive double entry)
No love in Phoenix.
Lots of hating in these comments for such a benign article about a couple of guys that want more out of life than what they see in their future.
They are working, paying taxes I assume, they are not criminals (well, maybe breaking some drug laws but most of us have) and they are trying to build a storyline for their lives that they can use to break in to the entertainment industry.
Sure, there is a certain desperation to it all but don't all dreams come with a certain stench of desperation until they come true.
I hope it all works for them.
By the way, saw the movie, thought it was silly and a step up from child porn. Korine creeps me out but to each his own.
Always nice to have a fairly civil debate. If you are ever in LA, give me a shout. First drink is on me.
"California had 100 years and is home to every major studio, yet they still need to offer a tax credit to keep production in the state."
Now that's your best point so far.
But it's a different age and Cali shot itself in the foot in many ways...on the other hand, you'll never go broke betting that the Ga. pols will not screw up.
The economy is the deciding factor. If it stays on an upward trend, and state black ink continues... Laissez les bons temps rouler.
