Okay- I have been at the Clermont on Tuesdays and heard 'English Nick' sing at the karaoke they have there... And I have to say he was pretty f*cking awesome on ALL the songs he sang... I wonder who's ego was REALLY hurt?...Probally yours- because only a douchebag would go on the internet and talk about how much better they sang than someone else at a KARAOKE event of all things... If you are so damn awesome, what band do you sing for, rock god?
Yeah,.That guy English Nick really has a fragile ego ,.You could tell when I got up there and made him look like shit he got all upset,.Not my fault he cant sing and has a small penis is it>?,.sheesh
Good – Nice location, bartender was great
Bad - $2000 minimum purchase (for group), no prior contact before event to go over rules/expectations or what they can do for you, setting up your own tables/chairs, mediocre food (which they don’t tell you they can cater for you)
Planned my wife’s 30th birthday at this venue. They don’t like to do business on the phone. Email is their mode of communication…if you can get them. Made numerous attempts to contact the one and only person that can take reservations for the private room upstairs with no response. Emailed owners as well – no response. Finally talked to the manager and she informs me that he is out of town and is the only one that does group reservations. We eventually get the place laid on after the reservations gatekeeper tells me to make my deposit with the manager who just told me she couldn’t do it.
No one called to verify our plans, tell us of any ground rules, can/can’t(s) on decorations, talk about food (which the menu says is $200-$250 for outside catering but mentions nothing about internal capability) or anything else. The plan was to order 8 or so apps to have on tables so people could eat and mingle. On the day of the event, the manager informs me that if people want to eat then they order downstairs and that purchase doesn’t go toward our $2000 minimum. She agreed to work the apps, but low and behold at the end of the night they charge me separate for that as well! Thanks for the help…
Finally, to add insult to injury, my 8 month pregnant sister-in-law and a friend had to put the tables where we wanted them and place all of the chairs! Then they were able to put out our decorations. If you are looking for a cool venue, but are ok with zero contact to answer questions, mediocre food and an establishment with absolutely no care for the customer then this is your place.
Checked it out... $5 ketel ones and some random $2 draft beer... very fun night.
We went to the NYE party Heathen Chemistry here in 2008 and it's an amazing building. The deck is one of the best in midtown.
Yes, the quality of the seafood could certainly be better. I've tried every seafood soup, sandwich and salad on the lunch menu and have been disappointed with all. Stick with the burger (they do a half burger at lunch which is a HUGE treat).
"Quality of the seafood could be better"???? I've never had a bad seafood meal here, if fact the seafood dishes I've tried have always been quite good.
I love Two Urban licks, my friends and I are regulars. We love the food, and I am not sure what you mean by passe. I noticed that you gave no expaination. Did you realize that there is smoked salmon or wood fired meats? The food is great, and I know it has a lot to do with the fact that the place is packed every weekend, and on most nights. No doubt, you have noticed an amazing amount of huge, fantastically decorated restaurants in this great city. We can go anywhere to sit in a glam spot. It's more than that. To me, food counts above all. The drinks are great there, too!
Aww yeah--- been going there since 1st grade, spent many a night bowling with friends after work...
GO GO GO--it's a strike!
If you've never witnessed this evening or any of the other nights when Metalsome is onstage at 10 High (Fridays and Saturdays) then you're really not a true Atlantan. Once you do, you'll be telling everyone that you have to experience it to get it.
It's so nice to reading about Metalsome in CL. These guys are awesome! They are so supportive to everyone who is onstage. I have a blast everytime I come!!
On 10/10/08 2 cars were broken into at Mr. C's. Windows were smashed and laptops were stolen. One car was parked in FRONT of the building! There is NOT adequate lighting for this area. You will find broken glass all over the parking lot on any given day. THIS AREA IS A HAVEN FOR CRIME!!!
Love Mr. C's! Good mix of folks and just the right amount of attitude from the barenders! Drinks are made very strong, beware!
I'm just trying to figure out who the old creepy guy is. (it's a tough choice.)
I went and tried the $7 steak a year or so back and it really wasn't bad at all. It was no Bone's, but it beats Applebees (or, for that price range, McDonald's).
Or better yet park across the street behind 14th st. playhouse for $5 to $10 per car!
I've been to this spot. LOVED it!!
You're so right, Jennifer. That tatooed bartender is SUPER sexy!
Re: “Mr. C's Neighborhood Bar & Grill”
I was a bartender at Mr C's in 1992 and nothing has changed (Thankfully) and to all my customers ... this is Eric. I know who you are:)
