Great seeing this interview with Bobby... Always a good time at S.O.S. and Bobby's cocktails rock!
YES! Proud of you Bobby <3
I do not think they should let the guy on the far right drink any more....just saying....time to cut him off.
dear proof guys,
you're a basic bitch
Tried this at Taste of Atlanta and it knocked my socks off enough to call restaurant directly afterwards to rave. Just delicious.
Cool chick, do not know her but like what I read, the Stooges, Roller Derby, Dorothy Parker, Tom Waits....
Richland is for real - great stuff. When you're not sipping it straight, it is a good substitute for rhum agricole in a Mai Tai.
Its so sweet.
Yes. The distillery lets you choose from 3 barrels and you make your selection from those. You can pick one or all three. You can either go to the distillery to taste from the actual barrels or they'll ship you 3 samples from the barrels. I do most of my selections through the mail, since I can't go to Kentucky 5-6 times a year. I do try to visit at least once a year, though to pick my barrels. Hope this answers your question. If you have any other questions, just call me at the store 404-633-5250.
Herb, you mentioned you have a selection of hand-selected bourbons. Do you hand pick them yourself? Do you personally visit the distilleries and choose one you like?
January’s two-night tasting of Pappy van Winkle in Decatur, Georgia, raised $11,710 for Poverty is Real, an organization that supports local-level charities fighting poverty and homelessness. Herb Chereck of Decatur Package Store and Julian Goglia and Brooks Cloud of The Pinewood Tippling Room restaurant combined to present an evening of gourmet dining with seven courses matched to specific bottlings of the infamously hard to get bourbon.
Eighty whiskey aficionados paid $225 each to dine, sip Pappy, and bid on single bottles of his bourbon. Both nights quickly sold out and Chereck, Cloud, and Goglia hope to repeat the event in 2015. “I feel this was the best way to let a lot of people try Pappy, “said Chereck, “and, even better, all the profits went to a local charity.”

Andrew is my cousin & I am so happy for him & proud of him. We love you!! Can't wait to come check it out!!
Better open that patio soon.
As an Edgewood resident who can walk to this place, I'm thoroughly excited about cocktails, brunch, the whole thing. As a beer writer/geek, I'd love to hear more about that side of the bar if you're reading this, Andy.
The girl knows her stuff. I really enjoy when she brings suppliers by with interesting stuff.
She's great. And Quality is arguably the best company on the ATL beverage scene.
Now she's too good to be a mixologist?
A chef of consumable liquid state matter?
But at least she messes with Bookhouse and more so, Righteous Room. They serve that crinack food (unlike ESS).
"Mixologist: A term that does not best describe what I do."
these guys seem alright for looking like the most typecast frat bros possible
also pretty amazing all the american spirit trademarks out there: fishing rods, auto racing, tobacco, etc - they were smart to add the word 'whiskey' to the end of theirs
good luck to these guys. i like their approach but i'm not so sure about the "american spirit whiskey" name. tobacco flavored whiskey (which is what the name makes me think of) doesn't sound appealing.
