Re: “BMF's judgment day

I do think that it is a shame that as talentented as the brothers were at business that they chose an illegal one, if not we might be honoring them right now for having a black owned fortune 500 company. Unfortunately thought in 30 years when they get out the cars, woman, vip lounges ect. will be a distant memory. Hardly worth the price tag they paid for it.

Re: “BMF's judgment day

I try to understand what goes through the mind of a cocaine "king pin". Are you kidding me!! Do you actually think in this day and age you can sell the kind of quantities of drugs the did,buy bently's,mansions in bel air, then after that did you think the government is gonna sit back while you retire from drugs and enjoy the rest of your life with all the proceeds. They barely wanna see a black man get rich lagitimately let alone from drugs.Be an athlete, rapper, doctor, lawyer they make plenty of money. "DRUG KINGPIN" not a good choice!!

Re: “Tremayne Graham: Drugs, murder and deceit

Unlike some others, I remember when Mrs. Carter use to bring her daughter to Belk of fay.N.C to shop for her,she so truly was proud of that young lady. She would tell me that is my daughter Misty, she was a beautiful light-skinned young lady. Full of grace , I do say this she she have dug deeper into Ulyssess goings.Hired a private investorgator. But I still think she was a strong mother full of wisdom.

Re: “Hip-hop's shadowy empire

What a group of buffoons. Precisely why African Americans are viewed the way we are. The sad part is despite the destruction and murders of innocent people there are people on here defending and idolizing this crap. They were (are) a group of idiots .. some dead, some in jail and some SO stupid that they don't know when to quit. We can say they did it for money, recognition or plain old 'attention' but the truth is they are just a collection of people with low self image, lots or charisma, wicked thoughts and no conscience. Charisma does not equal intelligent or brilliant as 1 guy expressed. They had charm and preyed upon empty people that needed validation. No one with high self esteem risks the 1 life you get for a season of (perceived) wealth .. no legends here .. no legacy .. nothing ... just idiots .. buffoons .. Strength, character & brilliance are in direct correlation to self control. We all desire opulence but only the weak yield to lasciviousness. So in reality 'he' lacks the very attribute for which he has been credited but habuilt his loyal following... sad .. very, very sad ...

Re: “Hip-hop's shadowy empire

I have to say this also, even though this group did somethings that you could only imagine or see in movies the end is real. These guys traded their lives for the money and fame as if they sold their souls. I dont know if that is what it is but the reality of it is that no matter how much money they made they still didnt get to enjoy it all. I sat back and thought about all the lives that could have been effected by this group, and their arrest. These guys have children and as brilliant as Meech is this guy could have easily had the same success if he would have switched his hustle or even even really got all the way out of the streets and into the music. The Black community has to give our children a wider window of opportunity for success. What I mean by this is that with our President its a start. And with our people showing different avenues into venture capitalism and enterprenuership. We can own fortune 500 companies now the only way out the hood is not a jump shot, a rhyme or selling dope. Actually its a facade to most and to the kids who dont get to interact with the athletes and rappers who leave the hood ( which is undestandable) but dont take the responsiblity to come back and give these kids there formula for success and the obstacles that come along with it, the drug dealers are there everyday and they can talk to them and physically see them. So in most cases this is who they idolize and when you got te musical infuence of todays rap to go along with it, this is what is bred into our youth. Our future. Its up to us idividually to create our peoples progress. Each one teach one.

Re: “Hip-hop's shadowy empire

Man This is an amazing story. I read a series of books by Terri Woods called the Dutch that speak of this but Big Meech is definitely a street legend that every rapper raps about. He actually lived it to the fullest. However, it also lets dudes thats out here hustling know that you got to know when to fold your hand and walk away from the game. I think that the fame and noteriety in the game is more addictive than the money itself. I think that Big meech got addicted to ballin. I hope that he can get an appeal and get to tell the story himself cuz this makes for a blockbuster movie. Free Big Meech!

Re: “Tremayne Graham: Drugs, murder and deceit

I knew Ulysses Hackett aka "Hack" in New Zealand and I wanted to let him know that the NZ National team Waikato (he once played for back in 1996-97 finally beat Auckland) for the first time in 20 years. So I googled him on the net and found this story which he got caught up in, for all the wrong reasons. My heart goes out to his family and his son T which he was sooooo proud of back in those days. He would be proud to see that his team finally kicked ass. Hack was one of the sweetest, kindest, fun and loving guy's I knew of. Although I haven't spoken to him since 1997, he was a great friend. Rest in Peace "Hack" Love Janet xox

Re: “Hip-hop's shadowy empire

I think that judgement should be left to those who can. If you don't live your life 100 percent by the book or by the standards of the creator, KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. You never know what or where someone else has been or been through so if you don't walk a mile in their shoes, WEAR your own. The focus should be on your own life and come up. Be wise and keep your eyes on YOUR PRIZE.

Re: “Hip-hop's shadowy empire

I was in the AAAAAyyy when all this was going down. All I have to say is that it wasn't the money necessarily more than it was the bodies. You can't go around killing civilians in vane. That makes you so hot for nothing. That kid touch your car fuck it buy another. He was probably drunk and alittle clumsy but he didn,t deserve to die. What you do to the ppl in your own fractions is your business.Besides if he messed the car up some fuck it buy a new one the next day. Seem like they needed to get rid of them hot ones anyway .AAAAAyyy get money but be civil no matter what you,ll get farther and less time. Those bodies put you on the map.ONE.
