Re: “First Place: "Drone"

actually x-ray wouldn't work on tv because it presents a static image of which additional information cannot be gathered

Re: “Third Place: "Jesus Stalks"

Man, what a great fun read! You should get Jesus and Alia married and do her take on her mother-in-law.

Re: “The Greatest Key Collector in Atlanta

I am trying to find out about keys. I really love them and REALLY want to know more... is there any way you could email me some information or a website or something? Thanks if you do: megan2226@yahoo.com

Re: “Medicine

Why are the winning stories always angst-ridden, filled with tedious if well described detail that essentially go nowhere, seeming to make a fetish of ending unresolved?
Capsule glimpses into everyday life are so overdone.

Re: “The Greatest Key Collector in Atlanta

I collect old Mine Safety Lamps and I have one that needs a clock key for a three sided pin. The key would be 1/4" in diameter and the three sides of the hole would be 1/8". Have you ever seen something like this? Fred@Hutchinson.net

Re: “Medicine

Yeah the last line was definitely cut off and it drove me crazy! I would be really pissed if I were the author.

Re: “Medicine

Great story. Piss poor editing and layout though. This publication has gone down fast since the idiot owner fired Ken Edelstein. You lost the last line of this story AND in the food section, Jennifer Zyman's misspelling of bear - as in "I can't bear to see a good paper go to hell" - should be embarrassing to anyone who gives a shit about journalistic integrity in print.

Re: “First place

Gosh, that was a good story!!! Congrats to the author for winning, she sure did deserve it.

Re: “Third place

I didn't think any of the stories were awful- they were pretty good- but it does seem like throwing in random Atlanta references and being a previously published writer was the way to win.

Re: “Third place

Congratulations Brian! We're all very proud of you.

Re: “Third place

I LOVE Brian Bannon's writing.
And his standup.

Congrats Brian!
when undiscovered talent write something good enough to be judged as a winner, then the undiscovered talent will be published.

keep trying.

it's the process of the writing that's important, no?

Re: “Third place

sorry lulabelle, you bitch, but, I'm a fan

Re: “Third place

This is shit. The spanish is bad but then so is the story. The AJC---I mean Creative Loafing---Fiction Contest would have done well to publish stories written by undiscovered talent instead of these already discovered and rather discarded talentless writers.
