@NomNomNom the homophob bar is down the street at Pin Ups
Kind of bar every hood should have? Isn't it the exact same thing as Thinking Man Tavern two blocks away? So maybe it is the kind of bar that should be on every other street corner?
Soooooo it's NOT a gay bar? Seemed like it when I walked in. Maybe it's just the neighborhood.
Looks good, i'll think i'll make one tonight
But is it a Christ-centered chicken sandwich?
Lost me at white BBQ sauce . . .
Senator Jack Murphy's LARGEST single campaign contribution for 2013 came from the Georgia Wholesalers Association... the big distributors asked Jack to kill this legislation and he agreed...
By the way, this is the same guy that was booted from the chair of the senate banking committee after being sued for $70 million dollars in a failed bank fraud scheme... (google Senator Jack Murphy FDIC) He PAID another lawsuit in this case.
This year (2014) Sen. Murphy's biggest campaign contributor is Charter Communications... Guess who recognized Jack for the best dude in Cable last year? The Cable association...
This guy is as corrupt as they come. I guess we shoulda contributed to his campaign to get him to vote in our favor.
"to the right of Chipotle." Left of Chipotle? - if looking at the restaurant - especially since Chipotle is actually on the corner Piedmont and Carson Ln/Lenox...
SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.................
As an Edgewood resident who can walk to this place, I'm thoroughly excited about cocktails, brunch, the whole thing. As a beer writer/geek, I'd love to hear more about that side of the bar if you're reading this, Andy.
killin me. i'm gonna need this for lunch.
is it spicy?
We have eaten at Lovies several times and more than likely "their best customers..."their brisket is THE.BEST.EVER...Cooked to perfection and so popular they run out...get more guys..it rocks. The mac and cheese rivals Swallow at the Hollow and that is high praise. Yes, the deep fried sprouts are a meal and as a side one cannot get enough. As I do not have a horse in this race and ALWAYS on the prowl for good Q I can highly recommend Lovies. Please, enjoy
@boomboomboom: Three Taverns Single Intent is not very similar to Duvel. Duvel is a strong blonde ale, high in alcohol at 8.5% ABV. Single Intent is a light blonde ale, only 5% ABV. The main similarity is that one is a Belgian beer and the other is inspired by Belgian beers.
The more sauces a BBQ place offers usually sheds some light on the quality level of their meat- i.e. more sauces equal lower quality, less or no sauces equal higher quality. The best Q requires no sauce. *Of course some places that have really good meat have just given in and put sauce out because certain customers don't care and want to drown perfect 'cue in sauce.*
"anybody have recommendations for a local beer similar to duvel, the belgian ale?"
3 Taverns Single Intent. I am not a huge fan, but that is the closest.
"I told Newman that I usually prefer the Carolina-style sauce my uncle made with mustard"
South Carolina-style. Harrumph!
anybody have recommendations for a local beer similar to duvel, the belgian ale?
