Good article, but allow me to point out that the Hawks have the longest ACTIVE streak of going to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, but 8 years in a row is by no means a record.
The Celtics won 8 NBA championships in a row in the 50s and 60s and several teams have made the playoffs more than 8 times in a row since.
I like that tea solution. Nice...
Oh, for sure! I think this is a great first step in the right direction. It's not perfect, but what is?
Baby steps, Austin. Some of these beers are good, some of them stink. Just by having crafting beer it's a like offering a gateway for consumers to something more. Hopefully Phillips will get positive feedback.
Princi Italia, is now open, located at 77 12th street. Right on the corner of 12th and cresent.
i think i'll stick with Heirloom.
Its too bad Brad Kaplan couldn't write about this restaurant. I would love to read his thoughts on the pintxos.
"Well, it looks like a Japanese businessman bought our website domain at auction. Darn it."
Excellent restaurant, especially the pintxos. I think that it is better than the Iberian Pig and plan to go back.
My wife and I had dinner new years eve at cooks and soldiers when they'd only been operating a week or two. We love Iberian Pig, but were still pretty blown away by how well the restaurant was operating and how well the menu worked. It's a great addition.
the link to buy it is bad, anybody have a good link
Let's not forget Krystal's is a copy....white castles is the best ever. They wanted Krystal's to be like white castles but couldn't make the exact sandwhich. No steam no good. And mustard hell no!!!!
I like krystals fries better. I think the burgers are the same deliouciousness. I love them both interchangebly. I wonder how krystals wings and hush puppies are..
Ribs are a little above average, but nothing to drive across town to get. Rest of BBQ was average. My biggest gripe is that I like to order a half rack and something else such as pulled pork or brisket. I did and the price was $33. Really! No way I can justify that price for warmed over food that feels like it was cooked yesterday at their main location in the burbs and brought in for sale.
Janes profile and false persona got reported to the comapny she was spamming for. i think they got the message.
BBQ done right, its that simple. This place is pretty amazing. The Brisket is far from dry and i opted for no sauce. Ive had some bad brisket and these guys have done it right. For years ive heard of GC's Q but being outside the perimeter ive never made the drive. But when i heard they landed inside at KSM i ran to try what the fuss was about. All the staff was amazing, everyone was smiling and looked happy to be there, and why shouldnt they, the aromas surrounding them would be enough to please my inner fat kid. And im guessing the huge dude with a smile is the cook. He sure looks like he enjoys the Q there and rightly so. It was perfect by my standards. Mac n cheese was rich and creamy and the cole slaw was refreshing and had apples which was new to me but great. Ice tea and banana pudding to seal the deal. I paid $22 and for the area it seemed normal. The food was worth it. My friend paid $15 for a shwarma at yala's with no drink or sides so id say i got a deal. GC, il be back for thise ribs next.
waiting for the janebot seal of approval.
I had eaten at GC BBQ previously and had the brisket and pulled pork.. Both of which are awesome! Just tried the ribs today and they were fall-off-the-bone delicious!
The place is a little pricey but everything is at the Market.... (ie: paid $15.00 for a Freds cheesesteak the other day. Lol)
So true. This is not just some ol’ BBQ joint trying to blend in with all the others. It’s outshining all of them.
Robert and Greg have been BBQing so long they could turn a rubber chicken – or pig – into the tenderest piece of meat you’ve ever had. I love this place so much because of a.) Amazing BBQ and b.) Because of what a true success this company has become.
Two dudes who love to cook created a small BBQ joint that’s tripled in size and won all kinds of crazy awards – why has it won? Because they put their own butts at stake by following their passion. Grand Champion. The name says it perfectly. They were destined to have the best BBQ in the A. And 7-8 bucks for a taste of dat (pig) a** ain’t bad either. I get my “Q” on at GCB every chance I get.
Speaking of a** – @kyle benedict, idk what crawled up yours. Get your taste buds checked and your panties out of a wad. Instead of kicking and crying like a baby online, you should have just told them your meat was dry. I’m sure they would have fixed that for you with smiles on their faces and both of you would have walked away happy.
