"why are you surprised Governor Deal wants nothing to do with it?"
Because it never ceases to amaze me the depths Deal will go to suck up to the Gop's far right fringe.
Considering the true costs of Obamacare, how people are being denied under it that weren't before and are now dying because of it, how most people have refused to sign up for it so the White House has had to employ silly ad campaigns to convince them, how quickly Congress asked for and received exemptions from it as soon as they found out what was in it....why are you surprised Governor Deal wants nothing to do with it?
And then Deal wonders why Obama didn't allocate money for the port of Savannah ... He's into the politics of Washington and not into the everyday people like you and me .... I hope Jason Carter wins... People need to vote especially in the Hispanic and black communities .... The younger generation needs to raise their voice instead of letting Georgia stay the backward ass state it is. #FVSUAlum
How many of us have contacted our legislators and Governor to share our opinion on this issue? We've got to get active to make a change.
We need to register more voters, too. Anyone can help people register to vote.
If one is a moron, is it possible to get stupider?
Fuck Deal. Seriously. I don't think I've ever legitimately hated a politician as i do Deal. I hope Carter wipes the floor with this bastard.
All of "our" state reps and the gov are cowardly, greedy douchebags.
I think there is the potential for this plan to backfire on the legislators in that, prior to this proposed change, they could tell their poor, uninsured constituents "sorry, that's the Governor's call, not mine." Now, when the electorate holds their feet to the fire for failing to expand Medicaid at the cost of their own health and well-being, they have no one to blame. In the words of the great Homer Simpson, "stupid like a fox!"
The most dastardly part of all of this is not even mentioned in this article.......
Think about it, Deal (and any GOP Guvnahh) is never going to go along with a Medicaid expansion, so taking the authority out of his hands really does not mean anything..
The real goal is to make sure that just in case Jason Carter (or some other Dem) gets elected Governor, there will be no way for that person to expand Medicaid without the legislatures help - which is never going to happen until we flip the legislature to Dems, which is never going to happen.....
So essentially, no Mediciad expansion ever, unless for some reaon the GOP leaders have a change of heart (or grow a heart) or decide that at some point down the road it is in their best political interest to expand. The truly sad part about all of this? The folks that elected these clowns blocking the expansion are the majority of folks that would benefit from the expansion......BENGHAZI!
The fact that this issue has become so politicized among party lines is pathetic. I'm gonna vomit if I have to endure another fat, white governor saying that this is a "cost issue" with a straight face.
"Yeah, it would be really nice to expand medicaid with all associated costs (NOT). Unlike those of us who have insurance, medicaid recipients do NOT have out-of-pocket expenses (co-pays/deductibles) so it is really discriminating against people who pay for their own."
1. When the uninsured get treatment you pay through higher premiums, co-pays, deductibles etc.
2. From an epidemiological perspective, the more folks in a population with access to healthcare the sooner epidemics are ameliorated.
3. Unless you a trust fund baby, you are just a bankruptcy away from needing a hand for yourself or your family. Mommy and Daddy will not always be around to pay your bills.
4. Over 4,000 men, women and children will die if Medicaid is not expanded. The moral costs of opposing healthcare expansion will eat away at your heart like a worm. Slowly, but surely over time hate will consume you. I feel sorry for you, buddy.
Yeah, it would be really nice to expand medicaid with all associated costs (NOT). Unlike those of us who have insurance, medicaid recipients do NOT have out-of-pocket expenses (co-pays/deductibles) so it is really discriminating against people who pay for their own.

Honestly Buckhead's his only true option; it's the only place in the city that has anything close to celebrity worship. He'd be liable to get his ass beat on the West/East/South sides
Apologies for calling you stupid and dumb, but I got emotional. Firefighters are awesome and I love my brothers!
This butterfly thinks he's smart, but he is stupid beyond belief. What happens when a major disaster occurs, which they always do. And we do not have enough emergency personnel to mitigate the situation? You ever heard the saying, its better to have and don't need than to need and don't have... Your gonna need a firefighter one day and I hope their available, and not in the middle of helping someone else cause of short staffing. Dummy!
Dear Gertrude, I love you. Justin, please think on what she wrote. It mocks a bit, but I know you can take it, big guy. It smacks of Truth. No pressure!
You had me at Bizzle.
