Re: “Meet Jill Stein. She’s unlikely to become the next president.

Well well well, absolutely shocking that Jill Stein would eventually align herself with Trump in defense of Russian espionage. I've never seen a Green Party candidate be a drooling tool of the GOP before!

Did you notice he said nothing about 1998? And no one said a peep.

Re: “Fulton officials to mull Central Atlanta Library renovation proposal

Should not the Library Executive Director, his administration and Library staff be involved in the planning for the building, rather than letting it be architect-led? The Librarians know the past, present and future needs of patrons and are the most knowledgeable about how to use the building for digital and analog books and media. For instance, a computer lab update, and GED tutorial areas as well as a teen area and children's areas are needed. Use the Librarian's knowledge well and you'll be able to use the Library successfully into the future.

Admit it, we were all waiting on Bill to say something to the tune of "Hillary had the prettiest face I ever came across" during that walk down Memory lane.

Re: “Democratic National Convention Day 1: Greetings, Philadelphia

The adults? So adults boo the invocation? They walk out and occupy the media tent? Adults confiscate Bernie signs and force delegates to wave their mass produced signs? Adults have a presidential nominating convention and don't put one American flag in the arena? Adults conspire against their own charter to promote one candidate when ostensibly neutral? Adults send insulting emails to each other about their own donors and constituents?

Yes the Donks are SO much more mature.

"Who are you going to listen to, Scott Baio or Michelle Obama?"

I'm not going to listen to either one but if your going to compare a keynote speaker to someone, you really should pick a keynote speaker from the other side, not some minor time-filler. That would be the adult thing to do.

"Anyone stupid enough to vote for Trump should be deported."

Please trumpet this far and wide. I want the public to see exactly how adult the Unicorn humping party is.

Re: “Democratic National Convention Day 1: Greetings, Philadelphia

Finally the adults are in the room. The Republicans are a fucking clown show compared to the Democrats. The Democrats give us Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. The Republicans give us Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato. What a goddamned freak show the Republicans are. What a fucking disgrace. Who are you going to listen to, Scott Baio or Michelle Obama? Anyone stupid enough to vote for Trump should be deported.

Re: “First Slice 7/27/16: DNC makes Hillary Clinton's nomination official

Isn't it fair to say that Tim Lee not only lost his seat, but that he was (justifiably) whupped?

Re: “Residents, preservationists facepalm over Engineer's Bookstore demolition plan

If it were not for community resistance, Georgia Tech would have bulldozed Crum and Forster 10 times over--trust me on that--much like Georgia State tried to demolish the Bell building more recently.

Having street front retail in Midtown might seem like a no brainer today due to ever increasing pedestrian traffic and vibrant street life, but it was not always the case. A decade or so ago when these regulations took effect these retail spaces sat empty for a long time.

What has happened to Midtown in the past decade is nothing short of astonishing, and the West Midtown and other Intown places are not so far behind. It is hard to be a witness to all of that and be cynical.

By and large the city is moving in the right direction as far as urbanization is concerned, which is why the cases like the Engineering Bookstore attract so much attention these days. With continued efforts and engagement of the citizens of this city, it will get harder for selfish or shortsighted developers to screw thing up.

Re: “Democratic National Convention Day 1: Greetings, Philadelphia

What a fucking clown show. A mile to walk to the arena? IDK, they only had 4 FUCKING YEARS to plan it...but lets face it, this ain't the common sense party.

Personally, I like the 9 foot fence erected around the compound.....I wonder if you need an ID to get in?

I am not a fan of Trump, but goddam, at some point, somebody has to say it, He might be nuts, but these fuckers are rotten to the core, AND incompetent.

Re: “College Park mayor threatens retribution if newspaper publishes unflattering story

No disrespect to any who live there, but College Park is often ranked the most unsafe city in GA and arguably among the most unsafe in America. Get crime under control and it can become a beautiful place to live and visit.

Re: “Residents, preservationists facepalm over Engineer's Bookstore demolition plan

"The midtown neighbors were able to force Georgia Tech to leave the front of the historic Crum and Forster building intact"
Pyrrhic victory. Getting a public university to leave up a partial facade isn't exactly caving into preservation efforts.
1000 sq ft ground level retail on a 30 story tower doesn't take money out of the pockets of developers either. The point is that the developers rule the roost and the neighborhood associations by and large are powerless. If anything the NPUs get thrown a very small bone which costs the developers little or no profit. In Atlanta city government supports the developers, money talks, and what the neighborhood associations say is barely registered.

Arguably NPU-F packs some punch but that is because of their very close ties to the city council, IIRC their major victories came against the ABI which is hardly a well versed for profit real estate development firm.

In the US, by far the most effective way to change what is built is through zoning laws. Otherwise large developers can simply sue a city to its knees, regardless of the well intentioned cries of neighborhood associations.

To Tom Turkey, that is why you have that name. You don't know what you are talking about and are too cowardly to put your real name out there. You have probably not even been to our great city.
