WOW! That was an extremely wonderful reading. I myself, am completely inspired.
It holds the statement true: You never know who you are talking to.
Another misrepresentation of the Fair Tax. The current income tax system is detroying the country and there are still morons trying to protect the status quo by spreading lies. I'll try to make it simple so you can understand. The current income tax is what is called an inclusive tax, the taxes are included in the price of goods or services sold. Since the Fair Tax will be replacing an inclusive tax it will be done the same way. If an item sells for a dollar 23 cents of that dollar will be remitted as federal sales tax. You will not be paying an additional 30 cents as suggested by those that misrepresent to protect the hideous system we have now.
You MUST read the book in order to understand the benefits of the FAIR TAX. Whether you will admit it or not, the fact that someone you don't particularly like wrote the book makes it a hard sell.
I am convinced that if someone you despised came up with a cure for Cancer you would not believe it.
This article expresses the spirit God had intended all human beings to possess,Love" thy neighbor as thy self. In so doing ,we are worshiping our creator. In the Holy Bible ,it states,"God says true worship is this: help widows and orphans.
I am not from a monetarily rich family as Doug was but my mothers generous heart was birthed in me. I established a non-profit org. designed as a program torelieve the suffering and support the health of pregnant mothers & their children in need. "Joshuas Home" is not just to house them but to salvage & restore the family unit by providing a "Home". I hope readers of this blog take the time to read about the FairTax and see that it would be the best thing to happen to our economy. All of the "issues" listed above are addressed and proven wrong by numerous studies.

I read your collumn on the internet about Garland Pinholster and the Basketball at Oglethorpe...One story for the books...I was Captain and pont guard on the Jacksonville State team in 1958 -59 team taht played Oglethorpe when they were ranksed #1 in the nstion in their class .Our coach didn't think we could win and chose to freeze the ball the entire game..Score at half time was 0-0. True Was only one shot the entire half ..Bobby knight was not the first to throw a chair across the floor..Pinholster did a the close of 1st half and I took the shot and missed. This made head line across the nation in all the AP papers. though you might like to hear about this war story.. we were impressed with their team who won in the 2nd half...Don Wilson 256-390-5200
Excellent Read. Hubbert accurately predicted US Oil peak of the 70's. He predicted a global peak for around this timeframe. By the looks of the rising prices it appears believable. Based on priority of energy research spending and threats to water cars designers in the US and Russia. It appears that oil is to be the path we are heading down whether we like it or not.I will not miss ATL traffic crazies, but I will miss food.
Re: “Fair tax a sham”
Great article, Fairtax is total nonsense. Total.
Fairtax leaders have written THOUSANDS of pages of BS --- to hide this in fine print, hoping you wouldn't notice.
"Under our plan, all city and state goverments will pay to the federal government a tax on all their spending -- on all their purchases, and on anything they pay for, including labor (wages)."
Fairtax -The Truth. Answering the Critics. Page 138.
There, in one sentence, out of some 600,000 sentences. A massive NEW tax on cities and state.
Ever hear Fairtax mention any taxes on city or state governments? Of course not. The "tax the government" idea wasn't the mistake of a goofy editor.
Fairtax.org has confirmed ---repeatedly --- that yes, every city, every county, every state, must pay TO the federal goverment a tax on every dollar they spend. Including a tax on wages paid by all cities, all states, even the federal government.
"The federal government ITSELF will become a MAJOR taxpayer"
The Fairtax Book, page 148.
You can say, if you want, that the federal government taxing itself is just "bookkeeping" -- although incredibly, Fairtax counts that as income, and not as an expense.
But their tax on city and state governments would not be "bookkeeping" -- the cities and states would have to pay that.
The tax on cities and states would dwarf any other tax receipts. This would be 60% or more of federal government revenue! Yet fairtax barely mention its.
Don't be ashamed if you were a stupid idiot and got taken in by this bs. Look at it honestly, and get mad at their bullshit -- not me telling you about it.
What kind of plan hides 60% of its revenue in one sentence, out of some 600,000 sentences Fairtax has written in their books, web sites, and "research"?
I loved this plan at first. I had high hopes for it. But after I saw the fine print -- and ask for clarification -- I realized, it's all nonsense. And they know it.
That is why Fairtax leaders have hidden from hearings under oath for 13 years. That is why corporations have avoided Fairtax like the plague. That is why real studies have shown Fairtax to be a farce.
