My very good friend have this testimony to share. "Elizabeth Garry is my name; i want to testify of what i suffered from for a very long time, and how i was cure by an herbal doctor with the use of herbal medicine. I was diagnosed of rabies three years ago; i was then living by the grace of God because before then i was having other ailment which was inimical to my health. i have looked for solution in so many places, and i never found any. Just few months ago, i browsed on the internet and saw somebody talked about how he was cured of another disease by a herbal doctor by the name Doctor Iluobe with his herbal medicine, then i realized i have not really thought of trying herbal remedy. So i contacted the person, and he gave me the contact details of the herbal doctor. So i emailed the doctor, and explained to him how i am suffering from"rabies. i was surprised the way he explained the disease to me and i was so convinced of his explanation. And i decided to give him a try. Though initially i was afraid, but later on i made up my mind to do all he says. He counseled me, and promised me that again i will be healed and be free from rabies. So he prepared the herbs, and after all arrangement he sent me the herbs in my country, and i started to take it. behold it was like a magic performed by magicians i took his herbs in a short while and got better and now i am finally cured and free from rabies. so please i want you all to help me say a big thanks to him, and also to God almighty for his healing in my life. And if you wish to contact Doctor Iluobe for treatment of any sort, this is his contact details. Email, (firstname.lastname@example.org) cell phone number +2348169909821
I think the men also need to wearing something cool and sophisticated like the women. The show stylist needs to shop for their men. Look at new brands like http://www.kenwroy.com/. Keep up the good work-show!

While we found Mr. Garfunkel entertaining and his concert decent. 90 minutes into the show he abruptly ended it and did not return for even one encore song - he seemed agitated at something and would not respond to the applauding audience even after 10 solid minutes. For the money we spent I thought we would have heard him come back and end the concert with A Bridge Over Troubled Water.
3 Combined: +5 for Crystal Castles and -2 for Doldrums, which was absolutely the worst live "act" I have ever seen ever... ever.
Ariel Pink? Sounds pretty... is horribly ugly, and made my ears bled, literally... Try a sound check... Then learn to use a Mic... go get vocal lesson. Better yet, take off the cliched garbage bag hoodie, and get off the stage. That whole thing was a crime against music. There was more wankerist knob tweaking on those synth decks than anything I could call music. There are more talented sounds coming from the neighboring stalls of public toilets the morning after hangover night. Stay in the studio if that's where you have a clue, because that was awful, and as my first experience with your so-called music, no I am not a biased hipster doofus. This is neither hating, or faking to like crap to seem cool... I give credit where it's due. For example, the drummer could hold a basic rhythm... he was the sole portion that resembled talent. Whose idea was it to have him creep around in the floor making weird jungle sounds? That was just bad... not in a good way, BAD IN A BAD WAY.
This show has some good stuff in it. The Dean Martin character really evokes him. The Sammy Davis character, kinda. The Sinatra one, not so much. His singing is good but not, to my ear, reminiscent of Sinatra's; his stage persona and mannerisms didn't really bring Sinatra to life; and the show itself doesn't give him much stage business to help color the character in. He sings and acts as straight man to Sammy and Dino, and stands around. That's about it.
The biggest problem, though, is Sandy Hackett's and Lisa Miller's efforts to write themselves and their respective dads into the show. Buddy Hackett was part of that era, but not really the Rat Pack. Sandy Hackett plays Rat Pack comedian Joey Bishop, but gives him this Yiddishy-Brooklyny accent I don't recall Bishop having; I got the feeling Hackett was really doing his dad. The Bishop character is made far too central to the show, hogs the spotlight too much, and actually sings. The comic shtick surround him is mostly pretty good, but it's a stretch to get folks in the door focusing on Frank, Sammy and Dino, and instead find it's more about Bishop, so that Sandy Hackett can do him while actually paying homage to his dad.
Likewise Lisa Miller, daughter of Motown songwriter Ron Miller. His songs are inserted into the show; his connection to the Rat Pack, other than this or that cover one or another of them may have done of a couple of his songs, is pretty tangential. But Lisa herself plays "Frank's Mysterious Love", a bit inserted apropos of nothing in the show in which she hogs the spotlight for about 10 minutes singing a torch song written by her late father that I didn't recognize and don't recall Sinatra ever singing. This in a show, mind you, where the main singer characters hardly get to sing a complete song, even the major standards associated with them. And, I hate to see it, but Lisa Miller doesn't look the part, and definitely needed not to be wearing a an evening gown slit to the hip.
This show has a lot of potential. I'd find a singer who can do and impersonate Sinatra better than this one. If they keep the Frank's Mystery Lover bit, I'd find a younger singer who looks the part. Sammy Davis' character has a high bar to clear: he needs to dance better, maybe know enough tap to be dangerous, not just soft shoe. Sandy Hackett needs to downplay his Bishop character some - and get a better toupee. He looks a lot older, both alone and in comparison with the other principals, than Bishop did in the Rat Pack heyday. The program lists his and Miller's son as playing "The Young Frank", although that bit was not in the March 16 performance.
There's an electricity that ought to be generated here. It's also a high bar to clear; these guys are so ubiquitous in film and TV and video and records that we're much more attuned to every little thing about them. "Jersey Boys", by comparison, didn't have it that bad; we haven't spent that much time watching Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Mostly we just heard them on the radio. But the road shows of "Jersey Boys" (I've seen it twice) are at their best electrifying. It can be done. This show ought to aspire to that.
It's like the Hackett-Miller family got together and said, "Let's put on a show!" It'll be better if they dial back their own presence in it.
Saw the show opening night. I love the Lyris's musicals but this one fell a little short. Lighting, sound issues and the acting overall was average at best. However Rizzo played by Alison Brannon Wilhoit, Vince Fontaine played by Jevares C. Myrick and Cha Cha played by Elizabeth Wexler were the highlights of the evening each delivering superior performances. I am looking forward to the rest of the season with some great shows lined up.
Man or Astroman - just a goof, nothing more, but totally worth it. Not nearly as good as the Ventures, all praise be unto their holy name, but definitely better than Ventures records and Star Trek with the sound down for an evening's entertainment. Any band that covers the MST3K theme song is OK by me.
I found a site where you can get coupons for restaurant called "Printapon" they are on all over the news, search online
The "Green Concert' is fun every year (Ive been to all 3). However, not even close to the old 'Midtown Music Fest' but that's gone I guess forever. This year the VIP experience was anything but a good experience. I saw people leave before the Eagles even took the stage. Whoever planned for the VIP viewing area should be ashamed. If you are going to charge people $250 per person for VIP you should ensure they have enough space to see the show. Chairs should not be allowed - nothing but a tripping hazzard. Food was very good but beer selection was a joke. As far as the music I think the Eagles did good job but gave the crowd the least for their money that they possibly could. The show was over by 10:30 - 2 hour show. Earlier in the week they did a 3 hr + show. With exception of Joe Walsh I felt they were just going through so they could head to the hotel room. Out of all 3 Green Concerts this was my least favorite.
For sure a 3 part piece - would like for it to have been more cohesive. Despite the gun series seeming cliche, interested to see where she will go with the grills and gun parts. The Barbie piece was for sure really interesting/intense with her combination of Barbie and human facial features.
Overall a good production, choreography a little high schoolish and lighting could use some help. On the positive side good acting, singing and sound.
Maybe it was the world cup event going on in Cabbagetown Park but I was sad to see the turnout was so low. The heat was also crazy. I was sad there was no parade this year too :-( I enjoyed last years a little bit more but will continue to attend and support our fabulous neighborhood!
EMPTY CLICHES DESTROY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
we're not congratulating each so much as we're defending it from baseless attacks. atlien1981 missed the website that would have told him what music was playing at what time and what food options would be present, so it sounded like he may have expected something else, which led to his disappointment. easy fix there without calling the festival a sorry excuse.
As far as "EGO DESTROYS ART" is concerned, I have no idea wtf that even means in the context of a festival this small. The last issue this festival has is too much ego. Is that what happened to our italian ice??? too much ego up in it? Ego to have a festival the same day as a World Cup match? ego in the high life tall boys they were selling?
It's one thing if you didn't like the festival or maybe have some feedback on how to make it better next year. You just seem...well...angry. Its funny that you mention shitty festivals and ego and then hock "your festival" on the next line. Irony is fun.
