Definitely not the best Cantonese in Atlanta. I tried dim sum here once and found a piece of the wok cleaning metal in it. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN? There are far more superior places for cantonese food.
You can't hail or call a uber try it you will have better luck in hell for that service from Uber.Call checker cab 404-351-1111 or down load there app www.atlantacheckercab.com If you want good service and a clean car!
Not bad but hardly the best view.
What's better ?
Top level of the King Memorial MARTA station has a similar but more expansive view from a different angle (as does riding the train between 5 Pts & Inman park).
Riding the MARTA train north just below Garnett station as it rounds a curve is also a nice skyshot.
Even better, the East side beltline just above Ponce De Leon, behind Paris-on-Ponce Market.
There one can see the full expanse of metro ATL from the 'scrapers around Woodruff Park all the way up into Buckhead.
Congrats Danielle! Wish I could have seen your performance. I've always loved Charlotte's Web.
Can we change our votes now that they have fired EVH???
Congratulations, Terry! Totally deserved!
I've not been to The Spence. It sounds like an interesting selection (who could pass up a wine that hints of "dries strawberries & white pepper" ! No snark, I like spicy. ) but the photo suggests potential probs.
How can they keep wines in such proximity to the heat of their kitchen, much less directly above the ovens ?!
No matter the insulation, that can't be good.
Details for the walk on Saturday the 12th of October.
or if you don't have a Facebook account.
SW BeltLine walk of the Tiger V funded section with the added bonus of Ciderfest happening in my backyard after the walk.
As most of you have heard, the BeltLine received 18 million dollars from the Feds this summer that the city plans on matching for a total of 43 million dollars to build out the West side trail of the BeltLine from Washington Park on the west side 3 miles south to Adair Park on the south side of the city.
I would like to invite you to come out for a walk of this section of the BeltLine with me on October 12th 2013, a Saturday morning, from 10am to 1pm. The full walk is only about 4 miles long from the Ashby Marta Station to the West End Marta station.
A link to the section we'll be walking.
Here are a few post about this section of the BeltLine from Feb 2010.
Ciderfest will be happening in my back yard right after the walk so please feel free to stick around for that.
There is also a meeting coming up on the 3rd of October about the Tiger V grant and construction of this section of the BeltLine. Here are the details.
Citywide Conversation – TIGER V
October 3, 2013 – 6-8 p.m.
Washington High School Theatre
45 White House Drive,
Atlanta, GA 30314
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. was awarded TIGER V funding for 2.5 miles of shared use trails, trailheads and access points, and preservation of future streetcar transit corridor in southwest Atlanta. The Southwest Trail will have a significant impact on surrounding neighborhoods as the corridor stitches together emerging economic nodes. The TIGER V grant award, along with federal and local support, provides the funding to start construction by the fall of 2014. This represents a two to three year acceleration of this portion of trail construction.
See you on the BeltLine.
R the cars registered?? R they 2014's? R the drivers tested for ability besides drugs etc?? Who owns & runs the co?? Just some thoughts on a very poorly supervised industry!!

Having met and spent time with Crimson Fist, I can say without a doubt that he's truly one of the good guys. Castleberry Hill is very fortunate to have him around!
Thank you Tim Franzen! The staff actually does get small salaries. We would not be able to do the work that we do without our volunteers. Commitment to the least of these is priceless!

I've never been to this place though I've driven by a million times.
That entire shopping center is filled with awesome Vietnamese places. The food court at Hong Kong Supermarket has the best bubble tea in town.
Derek, are you a Fuqua shill or just a meathead?
this issue was a great read from cover to cover and i loved a lot of the interesting picks the staff made. but i have a caveat— when is CL going to stop referring to "west midtown" as the "westside"? we had a whole discussion on this at city-data a couple of months ago (at http://www.city-data.com/forum/atlanta/191… and the next page or so).
the consensus some of us came to is that people who refer to west midtown as the entire 'westside' are ignoring a big part of atlanta's history and the importance of neighbourhoods such as vine city, west end, and the newly revived westside village.
i know CL doesn't ignore those neighbourhoods, but calling the 'westside' the best arts district is vague and ignorant. are you talking about westside village? that's the only sub-district with the name 'westside' in it (it's at the corner of MLK and lowery for those unaware).
how about west end? oakland city? of course not— you're talking about a specific district, west midtown. to label that the "westside" implies that it's the only place worth mentioning on the westside of town, like nothing else counts.
before the last 10 years or so, the "westside" was the historically black area of town— everything from bolton road down to campbellton road. now that one part of atlanta has become gentrified, suddenly that very small part of the "westside" is all that counts.
can CL stop promoting this ignorance and please stop referring to 'west midtown' as 'the westside' like the rest doesn't even exist?
I am soooooo PROUD and FULL of God's Favor and Joy for my cousin and family right now!! It is truly amazing to watch a family member's life and career BLOSSOM into renown SUCCESS!
