What is it with all the little-dick people with so many guns?
Moving on, it would be good to hear the board's opinions: Dep COO suspended for saying a few rude words about the Cobb Crackers? He should get a medal. Discuss.
no dry cleaning bill?
"matt" & "mrmateo" seem like the kind of assholes who give responsible gun owners a bad name.
It's not just happening in Atlanta. An October, 2013 Atlantic Magazine article, "How the NFL Fleeces Taxpayers," by George Easterbrook reports this:
"Judith Grant Long, a Harvard University professor of urban planning, calculates that league-wide, 70 percent of the capital costs of NFL stadiums has been provided by taxpayers, not NFL owners."
Georgia, Republican US Congressman Jack Kingston thinks poor public school children should be made to sweep floors at their schools to qualify for free school lunches so that they may learn that in life there is no free lunch. His thoughts about taxpayers funding 70 percent of the capital costs of NFL stadiums for billionaire team owners? Not a peep out of him or any of his radical right-wing, Ayn Rand, free market-capitalism-supporting colleagues on that subject.
Then why don't you venture out and abolish them yourself, Mark? I'm sure that all of the gun owners will capitulate when they see you at the door.
"Punk" style like this seems like it is the polar opposite of punk. Bradford Cox seems more punk than these guys. And the Black Lips definitely do.
There's something about the megaphone picture that I don't like. I don't know what it is, and maybe that makes it a good picture. I think it may be the aggression--don't get me wrong the aggression is completely justifiable in the Martin/Zimmerman case. I for some reason can't help but see this woman having the same level of aggression at the Kroger on RDA and Cascade after the checkout person does something wrong.
I don't think anyone likes him.
They're kind of starting to look like a joke of themselves. Song's good though.
a bunch of really great stuff here... well done, y'all. looking fwd to how y'all document 2014!

"Leftists play sports" and "Most athletes are union members."
Most professional athletes are union members for financial reasons. Where's your source to prove they are Leftists?
My source to the contrary is this. I know and work with a lot of union electricians and there's not a Leftist in the bunch. They seem evenly split between Middle-Of-The-Roaders and Rightists. They are in the union for financial reasons.
"I know the endgame is making private gun ownership illegal."
I grew up around firearms and I owned one at age twelve, but when I see some of the hate-filled, irrational comments from the gun lovers on these websites it just confirms my current opinion that firearm abolition is the only sane pathway.
"Lefties just hate sports..."
Since you seem to want to deal in generalizations Oy, let me offer this observation: For the most part Rightists tend to prefer sitting on their duffs and watch Leftists play sports.
How did I come to this conclusion? Most athletes are union members while most of those who go and watch them are fat ass suburbanites.
Treat the disease not the symptom.
Take a look at this chart via the Washington Post (hardly a bastion of conservatism):
One can blame guns all they wish but disparity of wealth and a society treating violence as a solution imho is a much bigger issue.
I'm all for some forms of gun control but keep things in perspective; we are as a nation STILL involved in TWO DECADE+ WARS, execute people globally without due process, and domestically with state sanctioned trials. Three of the top 5 most watched shows are about murder and we make "reality" stars out of people that resort to violence and face no consequences.
Yeah the issue must be guns.
BTW statistically mass killings are NOT on the increase (and the largest mass killing of school children in the US didnt involve guns). But hey much easier to feed the perception.

"They're not knick knacks for a billionaire's shelf."
True, they're not knick knacks, they are huge wealth transfers from the public to the pockets of billionaires. Knick knacks are inexpensive and quickly purchased. These boondoggles are terribly expensive and have to be paid for over and over again, year after year after year. But don't worry Mr. Peaked In High School. Wait long enough some Atlanta team will win a championship and you'll get a few minutes of reflected glory to help fill that void in your soul. Who needs sidewalks or lower taxes when you can call up Joe & the Sports Jocks radio show to express how great it is that "we" won the 2034 championship. Isn't it worth having broken sidewalks and traffic lights so bros like JR and Oy can have their ten minutes of "WE'RE NUMBER ONE! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!" sometime between now and 2050 when the subsidy for Arthur Blank and family finally expires.
cityzen, Oy is a true Georgian Republican. Hard labor for school lunches, huge subsidies for the rich. Don't try to find consistency in their values. It's as impossible as finding maturity in an eight year old boy.
Oy, Neither of these stadia will be a public amenity any more than the Cheetah or the Ritz-Carlton is a public amenity. The profits of both stadia will flow to the respective billionaires, not to the public. Both deals channel massive tax streams to replace buildings that have decades of life left in them - no bragging rights are added by these deals. Fans are not even being subsidized, since they'll have to pay higher prices to attend. Retract your nonsense or admit that you're not a true conservative but a shill for crony capitalists, the sort that extract monopolistic rents from regular taxpayers.
How do you carry on an honest discussion without discussing Chicago? More children die in our presidents democratic controlled hometown, where guns are illegal, than in all the other mass shootings combined. How do you just overlook this little situation?
Get over yourself, JR. It's been a while since I laughed as hard as I did when I read this post (linked below). Let me know when you come up with something funnier.
