Re: “Atlanta boosterism alive and well in 'Hollywood of the South' pilot season

News flash most working actors here are already eligible to join SAG, we chose not to yet because it can still effect the non-union work that is readily available. Right to work state vs. must join. Two completely different scenarios with the same actors from the same damn cities. Everyone in LA is from somewhere else anyway. Stop hating that all the work is coming here because Georgia has more perks. Have fun paying 5,000 in rent in LA!

Re: “Atlanta to install free WiFi in Piedmont and Grant Parks, possibly expand Internet coverage to some neighborhoods

hell, i would be happy if they charged us. hapeville does a thing where you pay something like $15 a month and you get WiFi access for the whole month, around the entire city. if they were able to set something like that up, i think most people would be extremely happy to ditch their data plans on their phones and the cable company at home, even if there were a monthly charge.

Re: “CBS Atlanta's 'chemtrails' coverage surely puts 'tough questions' team on road to Pulitzer

speaking the truth has gained me a better feeling about myself when looking in the mirror. there was a time when I would try to speak to those who would be persuaded by your negative persuasion and it was an uphill battle. however things are changing and your attacks don’t frighten people into group think so easily anymore. actually coming to this page and seeing others add posts made me feel pretty good.

i’m a business owner who enjoys more than moderate success, and have more than enough of the assets you’ve mentioned....now, what about you? do you live here?

Re: “First Slice 5/17/13: Whistleblower sues mayor for alleged conflict of interest

Don't worry JF, this is unlikely to get in the way of your precious new taxpayer subsidized football cathedral. It might hurt Reed but it's unlikely to hurt your Lord and Savior, Arthur Blank. And as we've seen over the past few months, there is nothing more important to you than enriching Arthur Blank at the expense of the public.

Re: “Atlanta boosterism alive and well in 'Hollywood of the South' pilot season

It's cute to see the haters being haters. They're so tragically predictable...like a poorly written B-movie script. It IS the Hollywood of the South. Guess you aren't in the know like you think you are.

Guess you aren't repped by one of the Atlanta agencies that work with LA-based production companies that keep casting Atlanta talent.

Guess the haters missed where Screen Gems (division of SONY) also picked their spot down at Lakewood.

Guess Atlanta-based actors like Jeff Rose, Mike Stoudt, etc. landing guest and recurring roles on shows like Drop Dead Diva, Army Wives, Revoution, Walking Dead and countless commercial work for national brands with international ad agencies (with Atlanta offices) isnt real acting work because they are not union. That sounds so dumb, I can't believe you wrote that comment to begin with.

Guess the over $3 billion in revenue is play money.

Guess that new online tv network that is launching is not really hiring production crews or actors. Oh, wait, you don't know about that new Atlanta-based venture that is already attracting SAG actors and producers from L.A.? Hmm...I guess you're not aware of what's really going on here in Hollywood South.

I'm from Los Angeles too, Captain Clownpants. You clearly weren't and aren't working in the industry or you wouldn't say such junior high nonsense.
Silly little haters, go back to playing in your parent's basements and whining in coffee houses. The big kids, the rest of us, all have production companies and networks to run...that you're going to beg for a job at. But hey, if we aren't "Hollywood" enough for you, just know that you've already shown you are not Hollywood enough for us.

Signed,
TM

Re: “Atlanta boosterism alive and well in 'Hollywood of the South' pilot season

Jeff is a great guy with a lot of credits - vanity or not. It's unfortunate people wish to bring down someone just for..... well, I dunno. I have had a great amount of opportunity as an actor here in Atlanta and I get to pay bills, smile and eat food. The work has been aMAzing of late and I am happy to be a part of the Atlanta talent pool. We support each other in ways that other makets don't. We don't work to bring each other down, but lift each other up. I guess now I wait for some no name bitter soul to judge whether or not my career is "worthy." Catch me in "The Internship" (Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson), "Resurrection" coming to ABC in the fall, and "Last Vegas" with Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas where I play Morgan Freeman's daughter-in-law. All jobs booked right out of Atlanta - wouldn't have been possible for me in LA.

Re: “CBS Atlanta's 'chemtrails' coverage surely puts 'tough questions' team on road to Pulitzer

think about it dude you're basically an evangelical zealot

you have secret knowledge that will save humanity if only everyone will open their eyes. this knowledge makes you part of an elite and superior group. there is a great and secret evil lurking in the world which can only be countered by your body of knowledge. salvation comes through dogmatic adherence to the knowledge, rejecting all counter-information and violently resisting any argument against the knowledge

the worst part is you don't even realize you're a religious fanatic, because your extremely poor comprehension of scientific principles allows you to delude yourself into thinking you're acting rationally rather than emotionally. you're worse than a scientologist

in fact your grasp of science or rational thought is so poor that both of my previous posts have been utterly wasted on your and your mindless cronies. but internet debate is about the audience, so really this is for the few thinking unfortunates who might stumble across this horrible thread

Re: “CBS Atlanta's 'chemtrails' coverage surely puts 'tough questions' team on road to Pulitzer

conspiracy theories should be classified as religion

old new alliance, your adherence to these theories will have two effects on your life

1) it will severely impact your intellectual and professional progress, perhaps past the point of stagnation
2) you will never think it is your fault, you will always blame the government for your own crippled intellect

tell me, what has speaking the truth gained you? money? friends? jobs? respect? have you gained anything other than a strong sense of superiority over the sheeple?

Re: “Atlanta to install free WiFi in Piedmont and Grant Parks, possibly expand Internet coverage to some neighborhoods

That's great, free WiFi until some thug steals your iphone or laptop.

It's awesome that all of the potholes are fixed, the metal plates are gone, and the sidewalks and sewers have been repaired so that they now have money to do this.

Also, Gigabit internet is already on the beltline. Sprint has a data center on Allene Avenue, literally next to the beltline. Oh, you mean the important part of the beltline, got it.

I do hope Handel is the republican candidate, but I really don't think she'll make it past Gingrey. Regardless, like J to the G, I look forward to this awful person getting pounded during the primaries.

If Mark Sanford can win in South Carolina, there really is hope for every scandal-ridden conservative nutbag out there.
