Re: “First Slice 7/20/16: Should a bigger city mean a bigger school system?

If I had a child in the Fulton County Schools I would be damned before I would have that child in APS. If I had a child in the DeKalb County Schools I would suppose APS couldn't be any worse.

Re: “DA won't seek charges against APD officers in Alexia Christian case

I agree she shouldnt have shot at the officers, but i still question why are police not releasing the video or audio? Why do police investigate their own "crimes"?Why did it take so long? Are these officers still on patrol? Why is it in the audio it says "she said she didnt have a gun?"and wasnt she handcuffed? What really happened?I wish their was more to this investigation these days police officers are "criminals"in government uniform. And they get away with "crimes"(like murde)because too many of the public believes an officer can do wrong. But remeber this evil comes in all shapes and colors! And BLM exists because of the police killing all those blacks whether the blacks killed were innocent or guilty video after video showed blacks(and whites these days)getting killed by police officers. And police officers are considered to never be wrong so the judicial system never holds them accountable. In return the community formed black lives matter it has nothing to do with supporting a criminal only people who think that are either racist or live in some "perfect"world.Reality is the black community got tired of police officers killing african american men and not facing any consquences.I think society both black and white are standing up and trying to stop these police from corruption and abusing their powers.

Re: “First Slice 7/19/16: Could Atlanta strip clubs be the next casualty of gentrification?

I don't excuse plagiarism in any form, but President Obama has plagiarized Deval Patrick's speeches on more than one occasion, and Vice President Biden did the same with Neil Kinnock's speeches. If you want to tar Melania Trump, you must tar Obama and Biden with the same brush.

Re: “Best of the Blotter

It does seem like it is not chic for CL to continue the blotter. It really shows how hard it is to judge the past using the prism of todays values. But if anything, it does show the difficult positions we put cops in, and how unfair it is to judge a cops work by a 4 second video clip.

Re: “DA won't seek charges against APD officers in Alexia Christian case

"folly of errors placed Ms. Christian in a very dangerous situation which, ultimately, she paid for with her life."

I completely agree:
1. she shouldnt have stolen the vehicle
2. she shouldnt have escaped police custody
3. she shouldnt have shot at the police

Once error #3 was made, all bets are off. I'll be waiting for BLM to make this criminal their next hero.

Re: “Republican National Convention: Day 1

GOP Platform's section on constitutional law begins with a declaration of principles: "That God bestows certain inalienable rights on every individual, thus producing human equality; that government exists first and foremost to protect those inalienable rights; that man-made law must be consistent with God-given, natural rights; and that if God-given, natural, inalienable rights come in conflict with government, court, or human-granted rights God-given, natural, inalienable rights always prevail."------GOP declaration of principles on consitutional law

If this doesnt prove once and for all that the right wing nut jobs want to interject religion into every facet of American society, I dont know what will. How does one determine which rights god bestows? Which ones are god-given, natural rights? Who determines what is natural? Which god? Who is going to communicate with this god to get his advice on constitutional law?

"You mean as opposed to intelligent, independent thinking left wingers who chant such original phrases as "no justice no peace" and "Black Life Matters" like germans shouting Sieg Heil...No they don't act like lemmings at all."

you're all idiots to me.

Most of these are cases of people with untreated mental illness and substance use disorders. This article is a poor reflection on our State and on your publication.

Re: “Republican National Convention: Day 1

Joeff - whatever they're paying you, it ain't enough. Excellent shots...could left out the Bob Dole, though. Love the Geraldo, including the quote. You also give good dissident. Great job!

As for the proceedings, if Rudy had given a speech like that in 2008, he would have been president. Did you see Chris Matthews praising him? Jeebus! I almost turned it off when Melania came on but I didn't and she wasn't half bad. Then Rachel Maddow praised HER. Wow...when PMSNBC Uber-libs swoon like that...oh who am I kidding? The real swooning...and thrills up the leg...will come at the Dems powwow.

I have to say that PMSNBC far and away had the best coverage. CNN had an army of pundits at a big table...just useless. FoxyNews was the absolute worst. PMSNBC covered the event, showing most of most of the speeches. Foxy had their personalities gassing on with the event in the background. Blecchh...

Re: “Home invasions plague Capitol View

It is July 2016 and my wife and I are considering moving to Adair Park or Capital View. We are looking intensively. The parks and architecture are beautiful. We cannot wait to find the right home. Do you know of anyone that is planning to sell soon?

Are there unsafe areas of AP and CV? I have been told that the west side of Adair Park across Sylvan Road is not as safe. I appreciate your counsel. Thank you!
