The fallacy of the low crime "per capita" is exactly that it considers the tens of thousands "inhabiting" downtown, during DAYTIME WORKING HOURS. However, what crimes occur after hours, does so at a far greater "per capita" rate, considering the actual nighttime population.....
Plus, we all know that a certain percentage of crimes "somehow" don't end up finding their way into the compilation of statistics.
More diversionary bs by Cobb County officials.... that email did NOT insult residents, it spoke of renaming the Braves, that's all.
And many residents of Cobb are incensed at yet more "good ol' boy" old school politics, sneaking this back room deal through, making a few insiders rich, while greatly increasing the misery factor for the tens of thousands of drivers, who'll be backed up even longer, near 75 & 285, at least an extra 80 days a year!
It's not an "honest debate" over gun rights but simply submission.
Most Americans do not understand the 20,000+ gun laws that we currently enjoy that regulate the right "to not be infringed". Many Americans are expectedly concerned of their 2nd amendment rights being eroded. Examples of the Heller vs. DC decision: D.C. effectively banned a functional firearm in an honest citizen's own HOME! SCOTUS (5/4) ruled rightly that it was unconstitutional. However there are those who still naively argue the decision. The great concern for anyone who respects any of our rights is the fact that 4 judges in convoluted argument reinterpreted the 2nd. There are 3 other "rights of the people" that are mentioned specifically by name in the bill of rights, care to guess which ones?
Other examples are; get caught in D.C. with an empty fired shell casing and be arrested, jailed, go to court then be placed on a life-time firearm ban list. To exercise your second amendment "right" you must pay >$300. McDonald vs. Chicago was the next SCOTUS decision (5/4) that restored rights stolen by those elected to preserve them.
The dishonest methodology employed by gun prohibitionist, condoned by much of main stream media as well as prominent medical journals that disseminate half-truths, statistical puffery and bold face lies utilized to separate people from their rights sincerely question ethics and morals.
The more onerous the gun laws to "regulate" in order to prohibit, restrict and outright ban firearms of honest citizens actually increase crime.
You are not more likely (43 times) to be injured by your own firearm. Armed honest citizens significantly reduce crime, serious injury and death at a cost savings far exceeding the "gun violence" cost numbers that include the Boston bomber as well as other criminals shot in the commission of a felony.
More guns=more crime is a false misconception propagated to separate people from their rights. In the hands of the unscrupulous, ignorance is a powerful tool.
However, make your own informed decisions, preferably with facts rather than emotional outburst: http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp
NAACP is ironically supporting further gun control to reduce black on black crimes. Sadly they forget the purpose and intent of early gun control in the U.S.A.
The racist roots of gun control: http://www.firearmsandliberty.com/cramer.r…
Most "gun violence" numbers being capitalized upon currently consist of a the majority being suicides. Not what most would define as violent crime and then there is the substitution issue.
Scrutinizing further, most of "honest" "gun violence" numbers consist of low income inner city gang and drug activities. Rather than focusing on gang and drugs Mayor Reed, NAACP, MAIG, VPC, Brady as well as other gun prohibitionist march forward on the ban wagon.
Damn Imperial Storm Troopers can't hit anything
