Its my favorite, I tell everyone I know about it!
I have to say that this soup was the biggest disappointment of The Optimist. It tasted like hot watered down crab flavored cream. There wasn't a single piece of crab in this soup! I'd say the executive chef needs to make a trip to Charleston and taste she-crab soup... stat. At $9 a bowl, I expected a bit more...
OMG, it's da bomb!
I have to agree. This is the best steak tartare I have ever eaten in my life and I have been to some of the best steakhouses in the country.
As a vegetarian, I didn't have a problem with this list at all. Then again, as someone who has been a vegetarian for so many years, I have become accustomed to the fact that most people are not vegetarian. I found the separate list for veggie entrees quite progressive. I guess it's a glass half full sort of thing.
I've got to disagree about this making the list (though I suppose that's what lists are about). I had it last week. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and absolutely nothing memorable about it. A good bisque will beat this any day of the week.
I found this list pretty alienating to me as a vegetarian. Even most of the salads listed contain meat. Not only do most of the 100 dishes feature meat, but there's a meat section in addition! Not a very diverse, well rounded, or even healthy list. I feel like a lot of Atlantans are a little more progressive than represented. Hope that's the case.
Finally! A "Top Whatever List" for Atlanta Restaurants without someone listing the completely over-rated Burger at Holeman And Finch!
You missed some places. Indian: Zyka, Chat Patti, Mirch Massala, Gokul Sweets. The Ethiopian restaurants off Briacliff. Also where is Penang ??? And the rest of Buford Highway??
Revolution Donuts are really good. I only wish they were cheaper.
'Grace Kim' - It's definitely on the list. Here's a direct link:
love this article but a bit annoyed that the front page pic is not an item on the 100 list. it is dol sut bib bim bap, or mixed veggie & beef rice in a stone bowl. i want to know what restaurant this is from
LOVE, love, love Revolution. So glad they're right in my neighborhood, too!
I am sorry, but Krispy Kreme is still my favorite by a landslide.
My favorite place for breakfast in town!! You gotta try it if you haven't...:)!!
My last meal would probably be a #1 from McDonald's (super sized of course with a Coke or Dr Pepper) and mayo/ketchup mix for the fries. Any location would do I guess.
Y'all are crazy to not mention the fennel dumplings. Or the cilantro dumplings. Or the lamb dumplings...
This is the best breakfast plate in town!
