whats most dismaying to me is that when fulton cant safely operate a jail or secure a courhouse they are looking to tear down a perfectly good building and drop $85M on a new library. this library only serves as a de facto homeless shelter so put a little lipstick on this pig (new paint and carpet) and put the other $84M into something fulton useful
...those worthless Caucasian's.
I had a dream- that one day the white culture would value edukation.
I had a dream that one day white Man would embrace the role of being a husband and father. To 1 family.
I had a dream that precise written and verbal communication was accepted in the white community. Communication is truly a passport to freedom.
I had a dream these white people valued a 401K more than $5000 rims on a 1987 cadillac.
I had a dream, OH I Had a dream
...That one day, these white people would wear their pants at the waist level. Because everyone knows that openly sharing underpants and ass crack is kinda gay. Yeah, it really is Holmes.
OH LORD I HAD ME A DREAM.
did anybody ask residents what they need near by?
zed, Reed's internet defenders are probably off the payroll now that he's in his last term.
is brit pop night still on
Ptown: wouldn't only a dim-wit put the comma outside the quotation mark?
404 error on link, their site lists it as http://www.metropolismag.com/February-2009…
Thanks for reading what I do, Ira. See you back here in May.
"'That's much more palpable...' I am almost certain the dim-wit that tried to write this article meant to say "palatable", but I expect nothing more from this pathetic rag. Creative Loafing is far from creative and an embarrassment to the already embarrassing city of Atlanta."
You got it wrong, buddy. In context of the entire quote, the numbers are more substantive ("palpable") and less exaggerated that the numbers put forth by the Medicaid opponents. Before challenging the lexiconal ability of professional journalists it might be a good idea to double check your facts before you "embarrass"
none of you guys are as interesting as teppup kcos
Maybe it has something with Georgia being one of the most corrupt states in the country?
Two top Nod Squad members, two borderline and one gadfly for appearances
Prediction: they'll come up with a bunch of things that add up to $250 million on paper but in practice will actually have negative savings due to "unforeseen consequences". Just like the security buffer around the mayor's new stadium that somehow was unknown and the weather report of an ice storm that was unknown, when the savings don't appear, we'll hear the same old lame excuse of "no one could have predicted this would happen". By then it won't matter because the bonds will already have been issued and the city will be even further in debt.
No doubt there are $250 million in needed infrastructure improvements in the city. No doubt several more times that amount could easily be spent but who would trust this mayor and council to spend it where it will improve the lives of common people? They already showed who they care about when they threw over half a billion in public money into Arthur Blanks new toilet. Maybe they can tear down a few more bridges to isolate more neighborhoods from job centers in order to force the public to vote their way "OR ELSE!"
Isn't this the same thing he said after his ice storm failure? Must be nice to be able to hand wave away anything you screw up especially when you're the type of person who loves to take credit for the accomplishments of others. Reed would make a great middle manager in a Fortune 500 company. All he needs now is a pointy-hair wig to complete the Dilbertification of the mayor's office.
This $400 million deal is not in Reed's hands.
His whole involvement has been political grandstanding; his purported close relationship to the White House yielded nothing. If he truly had pull on the national level, he would have known that congressional approval Water Resources Development Act would be a problem and alerted his buddy Deal so it wouldn't have come as a shock.
He won by a mere 700 votes the first time around and probably would have lost like the candidates he supported--Willis, Muhammad,Watson, Mosby--if anyone with any real name recognition had run against him.
He's a PR creation, and even that's not as good since Dade left.
I drive past this place a few times a week. First off:there are no homes across or even across the roadway, there is a bowling alley and a Ho-motel. The nearest residences are the apartments about a block away on piedmont by the titty club and then south by the funky looking building that was Ichtlan... The 400ramp is a few yards away, again, no houses on that entire block, nor across, but easy getaway for robbers on wheels...So I gather the neighbors are pretty much the other businesses, the firemen at the station and maybe the apartment residents.
With that, be aware this is a ghetto bar, and ghetto people party here, you can't buy class, so just go figure what type of patrons frequent this place. People probably doing nothing good at the Ho motel may be partying at this club...what else you expect?may as we'll be located on Fulton Industial Blvd!!
"When is the last time someone gave you $400 million?"
Hey Kasim, why don't you pose that question to your good buddy Arthur Blank?
No, he's saying that people will believe his bullshit.
