Re: “Family wages war with military to reveal truth of The Tillman Story

Assassinated? No. Friendly fire happens in every war. Look at some of the incidents in WWII if you really want to be outraged.

The outrage here is the lyin' ass military power structure.

Re: “Georgia's blank check to Hollywood

Debbie Michaud proceeds to deem ALL Canadian Gov Accountants and Gov people that balance tax budgets IDIOTS.

"What's harder to determine, though, is whether the tax credit is worth the tens of millions of dollars sacrificed annually in state revenue as a result."

If this short sighted understanding of econ were true then the Canadians have had it wrong for over WELL OVER 20+ years.

Once again the 'press' gets it wrong by ignoring WHY we are here in the film tax incentive world. 4th paragraph by the time she questions tax incentives. MOST IMPORTANTLY she makes NO mention why we have tax incentives in the first place.

Did we dream it up needing tax incentives Debby? Do you really think we want all that extra political work just to work????

Re: “Curt Holman's Oscar predictions

Well as best picture I agree it will not win but Grand Budapest had it all. Acting. Direction. Plot. But most of all it was an enjoyable experience. I looked Birdman for acting and message of what it is like which is my next favorite. The rest actually ho hum. Tired of "I want and Oscar" pictures. When the average person can spot them a mile away it is time to get back to making film because they are a good idea not just a stars whim.

Re: “Hollywood Product: 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

It's my understanding that the book doesn't provide any romance that the film lacks. In fact, it's a textbook abusive relationship.

Re: “‘Jupiter’ descending

The movie had its issues, but I liked it. More importantly, it was something new. It was not a reboot or a sequel. I need more movies that are not sequels and not reboots.

Re: “Arlen Escarpeta talks playing Bobby Brown

"...Escarpeta [is] saddened that their relationship didn't work."

On the contrary ! The two of them were so much alike; they both carried on in a profane/foul-mouthed-like manner. Their relationship worked a well as they needed it to. They needed each other; they needed to be together.

They just couldnt live together.

Re: “The Lena Baker Story: Moral minority

I saw some of the movie today. Its ugly, brutal and ignorant. The things Black people allowed the whites to do. She never told anyone the threats that man made about burning her family. ( NOT THAT IT WOULD DO ANY GOOD) Her mom told her to quit and she didn't even tell her. Yes I saw him take her. SMH THERE WERE JUST AS MANY BLACKS AS WHITES. THE INDIANS FOUGHT THEM BUT NOT OUR SCARY BUTTS!!! SURE there were uprisings and eventually we were freed as a people. Its 2014 and we are committing genocide. We are just in a different form of slavery ( The government and the penal system). And now we killing each other in record numbers and still being kept on the plantation (jail) Why do you think black people have so many felonies and can't get jobs? Sure its our own fault for committing the crimes. But who made the laws? Who's giving us the guns and the drugs? Think about it and it don't take a high school diploma to figur it out!!! Everyone got paid for the injustice done to them but BLACK PEOPLE!!! OF COURSE PROPERTY CAN'T GET PAID!!! IS THAT WHY WE GET PUBLIC AIDE, DISABILITY, MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND SUBSIDIZED HOUSING!!! THE BLACK MALE NEEDS TO WAKE UP BECAUSE YOU'LL BE LIKE THE DINOSAURS. EXTINCT!!!!😢 I'M JUST SAY'N From Chicago

Re: “The Lena Baker Story: Moral minority

I am a 38 year old Caucasian male. I live in Texas (roughly 30 minutes SE of Houston in Alvin tx). I remember having friends of all colors in elementary school. When they spoke of racism I naively thought how I'm glad that's no longer around. As I got older I remember realizing it's still around. Alvin had a sign by the city limits that said " you n-----s better not let the sun set on your ass in alvin". I hung out with mostly African American kids and being into all things hip hop. I did my senior research paper on Malcolm x. I was chastised by many white kids even being called a " wigger". Got into many fights etc. So I now know racism is alive and well. I watched this movie on bounce tv and it really pissed me off! I was wanting to kill the son of the old man, the judge, jury, the states attorney, he'll even miss Lena's lawyer! IMHO this movie should be shown in school to try and wake folks up and stop with this racism crap already. When will we learn no man is greAter than another? When will we learn that we all love, get sick, get mad, have good times and bad, and bleed the same damn color? We need to learn love and not hate. Out of all famous people you know who I love the most? Tupac amaru Shakur . They may still calle a wigger but at least I'm not a ignorant piece of scum. If this movie can change the way one person only ONE person feels it's worth it being viewed in the classroom. Please everyone more love and less hate makes a better planet. For those who hate based on skin I hope god tells you oh I'm sorry your skin isn't right to be in heaven and he sends to have your skin burned off and for u to rot in hell!
