Lust List 2013: Christopher

Job: Partner/manager, Flatiron

Age: 31

Relationship status: Has a boyfriend

You'd never guess it from his sculpted biceps, but until a year ago Christopher was 60 pounds overweight. Despite working in the bar industry for the past decade and loving it, he decided to quit hitting the bottle and hit the gym instead. "I just got tired of the stupid, 'Ooh, what did I do last night?'" he says. The result? A "ridiculous" new body, according to a secret devotee, and a promotion to partner/manager at the East Atlanta fixture Flatiron. You can still find him behind the bar serving drinks and hugs to regular patrons several nights a week. And if throwing back a few is the closest you come to a daily workout, at least you can take pride in knowing your tips will go toward his personal trainer.

What band were you obsessed with when you were 14?

The Spice Girls. Unabashedly [laughs].

What's the lamest pickup line anyone's used on you?

I like your tats. I can't stand that one.

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

[Laughs]. Somebody who falls down a lot. Steve Carell, yeah, for sure. I'm a little clumsy, so somebody with clumsy comedic value.

What's your least favorite thing about Atlanta?

Attitude. I moved back to the South to get some Southern hospitality. There's great, friendly pockets of Atlanta — and I'm fortunate to work in one of them — but there's a lot of attitude here as well.

Name one thing you've stolen.

I stole the Men's Health magazine from the tattoo parlor upstairs from my bar yesterday because Adam Levine was on the cover.

Have you ever been dumped? If so, what was the reason?

Oh yeah, which time [laughs]? I've been dumped and it's probably for being a little on the needy side I would say, for sure.

Have you ever stalked someone on Instagram?

Constantly.

What's your weirdest recurring dream?

Every night I dream that my bar is 30 tables bigger than it is and I am the only person there and it is full of foreign people who want refills on their Diet Coke. That's literally a nightly dream for me.

Why do you think someone nominated you for the Lust List?

To watch me squirm [laughs].

What's your standard drink?

I don't drink, so Red Bull. That's my go-to. I used to drink; I just quit. It was weird to start with but it's a lot of fun for me now.

What's your guiltiest pleasure?

French fries, I have to say. The Flatiron fries — they're covered in bacon and cheese and jalapeños and ranch.

What's your least favorite household chore?

All of them. I despise laundry, but all of them pretty much.

Describe your relationship to exercise.

It's pretty essential to me. If I don't get that in a day then it's a bad day. So I'm an avid gym-goer.

What's the last thing that made you cry?

I can't even tell you the last time I cried. I went home to see my parents. It was probably just seeing them and saying goodbye. My parents put their house on the market and it's my childhood home so I guess I was upset about that.

What's the last good book you read?

I'm actually in the middle of The Power of Now right now. And it's been really interesting to me. It's always interesting to get people's outlook on what makes them happy. The guy who wrote it was homeless for a while and said that he found the most contentment being homeless. It's just kind of fun to see where people draw their happiness from.

What do you wish someone would hurry up and invent?

I saw a DeLorean yesterday in the parking lot of Whole Foods so I would really enjoy a DeLorean time machine. I think that would be great.

What movie would you most like to live in?

I'm a sci-fi nerd so probably Star Trek. And the last one, the remake.

What's the first album you bought with your own money?

It was the Cranberries.

What's the best way for a customer to hit on you?

Being respectful goes a long way. And asking about my day is also something that I don't get a lot, so that goes a long way with me.

What's the one thing you most hope to accomplish this year?

Last year was such a big year of goals and growth for me that I haven't set out a ton of goals this year. But I'd like to expand business a little bit more. That's probably top on my list. And I'd like to travel more. There are some destinations I'd like to get to. Hawaii's on the top of the list.

Is there a drawback to being attractive?

You know, I haven't ever really thought about that. I really think in terms of friendliness and humor more than attractiveness, so no, I guess.

Who's the most important person in your life?

My boyfriend, certainly.

What's your sexy-time soundtrack?

Anything by Zero 7.

What's your pettiest relationship deal-breaker?

People being controlling, I can't deal with that.

What would you order for your last meal?

Fried chicken from South City Kitchen.

How much would you charge to murder a stranger?

I guess it depends on why I'm murdering them? No, I'm not a murderer.

How do you handle rejection?

Poorly. I don't do well with rejection.

With whom would you like to play Truth or Dare?

If Sterling Archer was a real person, then Sterling Archer. But otherwise, Bill Clinton.

What did your parents want you to do with your life?

They wanted me to be an attorney.

What's your preferred footwear?

Nike Zeros. I have eight pairs of them.

What's the most romantic place in Atlanta?

Probably the Botanical Garden. I was there for the Garden Lights thing that they did. It was really awesome.

What's your wackiest piece of personal trivia?

Wow, I don't know. I'm a sci-fi nerd. I don't really tell people that.

What personal attribute are you a sucker for?

A good sense of humor.

Where would you go on a bucket list vacation?

Palau. It's in the South Pacific. It's one of those volcanic islands, so it's got the most diverse marine life of anywhere on the planet.

Not counting rent or bills, where does most of your disposable income go?

It's a toss-up between my personal trainer and King Baby jewelry. I'm kind of obsessed with it. It's a little bit rock 'n' roll.

What's your life's ambition/grandest dream?

To be successful in business and to have a family. I'd really like to have a couple mini-me's running around.

If you had to spend $1 million in one afternoon, what would you do?

I would buy a lot of cars. I love old cars. My partner has an old Charger. But there'd be an old Camaro and maybe a Ferrari. I'd just spend it all on cars.

What kind of car do you drive now?

A soccer-mom-mobile; I have Nissan Murano.

Have you ever stolen a friend's boyfriend?

Never.

What's your own character flaw you'd most like to fix?

I guess I'm a little controlling. It's funny cause I said that's the deal-breaker for me. But definitely, I can be a little overbearing.
