Kyle Brooks is a Southern, Neo Folk Artist. He draws and paints from the things he sees: bugs, animals, odd folk walking down the road. Kyle creates art from his surroundings in the South. The humidity, heat and the red dirt all end up in his work. More and more he is painting on found objects. Plywood and cardboard are two of his current favorites. Leaving art out in public for all to see and enjoy is one of his new pastimes. Kyle has been creating paintings for about 15 years. As he grows older and is changed by life so do his creations. He grew up in Georgia but has also lived in central Alaska and the mountains of east Tennessee. He now lives in Atlanta with his rat terrier, Pup. Kyle enjoys watching airplanes and listening to birds. He also spends his time time writing music, cooking toast and making bears. Kyle can draw really well too.
