On the heels of the release of “Tribulation”, Atlanta jazz guitarist Jacob Deaton is preparing for a multi-city tour. Ever since Deaton independently released his critically acclaimed album, “Tribulation”, he’s been selling out shows all over Atlanta and surrounding areas. In the Summer and Fall of 2012, Deaton will bring his unique sound on the road to say hello to old friends and new fans. When Deaton joined The Justin Chesarek Quintet (Justin Chesarek, drums; Craig Shaw, bass; Akeem Marable, alto saxophone; Nick Rosen, keys) two years ago, he began writing tunes for their regular Wednesday night gig at Atlanta’s hallowed jazz club, Churchill Grounds, and has cultivated his tunes ever since. Deaton walked into the studio with his original bandmates and laid down six inspired tracks that will keep you humming for days. It’s not just staright-ahead swing, or bop. It’s an original ATL Jazz revival played by five smokin’ musicians. And music critics agree. Bruce Pulver, of Jazz Times, started his review by saying “Tribulation” is “Original, fresh and worth a listen.” Pulver adds, “Jacob Deaton is a musician committed to his heart and soul. Live or recorded he brings something unique in each setting he joins. “Tribulation” is a slice of creativity and passion to make music from a place deep inside him. He also inspires his bandmates to dive in completely and create “in the moment”.
