Breakfast and brunch restaurant.
The takeout menu varies slightly each day, but count on seductively constructed sandwiches such as homemade meatball hoagies with buffalo mozzarella; freshly made pizzas; family-size containers of mac-and-cheese; and entrees such as grouper escabeche and beef tenderloin with salsa verde. The jewel-like desserts, including the loveliest cookies in town, are meant for savoring, not gobbling.
Part of a chain of vegan restaurants. It operates under the auspices of the Hebrew Israelite Community of Jerusalem.
The quaint and tasteful ambiance of mom's kitchen is in full force at Buckhead's Souper Jenny. But it's the interaction of the familiar with the adventurous that makes it worth the traffic. Pick from a list of wholesome soups, tasty sandwiches and crisp salads. The menu changes daily, but if you happen upon the artichoke and roasted tomato sandwich with a goat cheese spread, go for it.
"A one-of-a-kind bohemian bistro nestled in historic Cabbage Town."
Urban pL8 is owned and operated by Betsy Pitts, who's spent time in the kitchens of Bacchanalia and Floataway Café. But don't let her high-falutin' credentials lead you astray. Urban pL8's goal is to be a neighborhood lunch and occasional dinner spot (it's only open for dinner Friday and Saturday nights), not an upscale scene. Pitts' staff is affable, attractive, and often flummoxed. The whole place has a kind of thrown together feel, like a lovable family who set out to start a business and is trying really hard despite not knowing exactly what they're doing. The food ranges all over the place, from basic sandwiches to New American entrées. Like much at Urban pL8, the menu has some quirky, unexpected strengths: salads and cocktails.
Cafe Intermezzo is a Buckhead mainstay, famous for its overwhelming dessert case, providing breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night fare to appreciative eaters and drinkers. Modeled after a Viennese coffeehouse, the cafe serves a wide range of alcoholic beverages and is a romantic favorite for dates begging to be continued past dinner and a movie.
A casual American bistro.
This literary-themed pub is a popular stop on the way to or from clubbing. Seasonal beers, quality cocktails, and creative tavern fare.
The Buckhead mainstay — and its overwhelming dessert case — has fans in Dunwoody. Modeled after a Viennese coffeehouse, the cafe also offers alcoholic beverages and international lunch and dinner items. Perfect spot for first dates or losing yourself in a book.
Cozy bistro with eclectic menu. Nice stop before or after a film at Midtown Art Cinema.
Well-known for its excellence in baked goods and homey atmosphere, Alon's addition of an open kitchen and carryout case creates a swankier feel and options that are meant to be eaten at home. The meatballs look good and taste even better. You'll want to sop up the leftover sauce with some of Alon's fresh breads. You can't go wrong with the robust roasted lamb sandwich, the marinated and grilled chicken sandwich, the flaky croissants and the crumbly muffins. As always, the desserts will leave you speechless.
