You can never figure out quite what Michell Nunn is advocating, other than can't-we-all-just-get-along. If she gets the Democratic nomination -- not assured, despite the "ignore the other candidates" (Dr. Rad) framing that the press has swallowed whole -- she still must convince Democratic voters that she is FOR the fundamentals that Democrats stand for, not just for whatever Republican Senators will agree to. If the top Federal race on the general election ballot doesn't draw the Democratic base to the polls, what will that mean for other Democratic candidates? "Centrist" means "I'm FOR whatever the opposition will agree to, so we can pass SOMEthing." Since the Republicans adopted the "whatever Obama is for, we'll oppose it" strategy five years ago, they've mocked the fantasy of "bipartisanship." Stand for something!
