Re: “CL's 2016 Wish List

One great solution to the WRAS issue is to have a format similar to KCRW in LA, but instead of professionals DJs, the music is programmed by the students. There's no reason why you couldn't have NPR programming mixed with student run content. As for James... WRAS was never for you, it's college radio station run by students. I'm a fan of college radio, music and NPR, but I will never listen to 88.5 during the day.

Re: “GPB President Teya Ryan: 'There were not political motivations' behind the WRAS agreement

She is a miserable excuse for a human.

Re: “The Whigs cancel GPB in-studio performance

That's great they stood-up for this. I understand the anger people have, but it's misdirected at the band. I'm glad they have a thick skin, but not everyone does. I hope GPB gets the message and does the right thing soon.

Re: “WABE's board of directors: GPB's WRAS takeover is a 'waste of Georgia‚Äôs tax dollars'

I don't even live in Atlanta anymore and that letter from WABE just compelled me to donate. Smart move on their part, a little late but still greatly appreciated. I'll be back in Atlanta some day and I want WRAS as it was.

Re: “GPB's Tanya Ott talks WRAS deal, station's future, student internships

What I would say to you is that if you look at the research that comes from the Pew Center on usage of radio younger listeners are using radio less. And they're using streams, they're using digital more. '

I'm about to turn 40, am I still considered a younger listener? I use streams, I love NPR, but I love WRAS a lot more, especially when I am not chewing through my data plan to listen to music I love. This is ridiculous and needs to stop now.

Don't turn down the heat yet.

Re: “GPB announces 'Real World' internship program for GSU students, WRAS DJs

How on earth are these internships provide more "Real World" experience to students than letting the students run the station on their own. This is a real insult to the intelligence of everyone outside of GPB, who the hell made then gods of broadcasting. While I attended GSU I had a paid internship at CNN, a global news organization. Maybe the real world experience is about canvassing for pledge drives... or making dirty back room deals. GPB needs to get a grip, and back off this thing before the situation gets worse.
