Re: “From Kyoto to Georgia

There really isn't anything people can do about the global warming issue. It is caused by overpopulation. Figure out how to get rid of people and you'll solve the problem. Since that isn't going to happen anytime soon, then just relax and wait till something breaks.

Re: “We ain't fergettin'

It is obvious you have not studied your history regarding the causes of the Civil War. The Union used the slavery issue for a political cause, not because they wished good will toward slaves or black people. It just didn't sound as good saying they were against independence for the Confederacy. The real cause of the Civil War was economics, as are most Wars throughout history. But the race card has worked well for them as evidenced by your opinion piece.

Re: “Their cost to bear

I don't understand why these kids think like this. You work for what you get or you stay home and eat onion sandwiches. That message is the same today as it was when I was young. This false sense of security is a mystery. Youthful ignorance is at an all time high.

Re: “Reparations? Hell, yes

This whole discussion is utterly obsurd. The United States government cannot pay for nor should it have to pay for criminal activity in the nations remote history. Maybe you can identify the individuals who committed the crimes and sue their family's. Good luck with that. Better solution, forget about it, work hard and take care of your family. Do not use race as your excuse for failure. Place the blame for your failures where they belong. I'm very tired of the race blame game.

Re: “Reparations? Hell, yes

I don't know what this article is exactly, but definitely not journalism. I guess you guys are seeking tabloid status. Whip out that calculator and start tallying up reparations for every crime committed black on white, and white on black. What's it say? Get it? No one can pay reparations on crimes in history. Who could calculate it and who could pay it?

Re: “The riot

This seems pretty tame compared to a single day in Iraq. It seems to me the significance of this is overblown for purposes I'm not sure of. Certainly nothing is to be gained by agravating old wounds in youths totally unaffected by a small riot in a small town that occurred 110 years ago. Why don't you focus on the 50% dropout rate for a bit and ask yourself if this history lesson helps reduce this number. Media does not have to be a negative campaign without purpose.
