Wow! I am so impressed with this "little neighborhood that could!". For a neighborhood organization to coordinate a Department of Education Grant and facilitate this level of communication and good will between these two countries is an incredible feat! Good job to all involved, if you keep trying the same things, you will get the same result. The best suprises come when you get outside your confort zone...one of the biggest objectives of an EDUCATION!
First, this is a great article as the other posters have noted...the best I have read in CL in a long time.
Second, I whole-heartedly agree that a casino would be a key component in Underground's turnaround. As one panelist noted, a casino could serve as a regional attraction. With Underground's unique localle attached to the hub of Marta's Five Points Station, visitors could theoretticly arrive at the airport and travel to the casino without ever going outside.
However, I have trouble believing that in a state which is so embroilled over something so insignificant as Sunday Beer & Wine Sales, that we could ever overcome the challenges that legalized gambling could pose.
Articles like this are a great continuation of the discussion though...keep up the good work!
