No Cafe Circa?? You know that place right in between Corner Tavern and Cafe 458 that was completely skipped over?
That place has rather awesome jerk wings and sweet plantains amongst plenty of other delicious things.
What an eloquently written, intelligent article. You get both a musical and historical lesson rolled into a big ball of ATL pride! It honestly almost made be shed a tear!!
I was slightly young-ish when Goodie Mob was big (graduated high school in '03), but I still remember how influential they were in my younger years. This article takes me back to those OutKast days, and makes me wish the hip hop landscape, not just in Atlanta but throughout the country, could reflect the thoughtfulness of these brothers! I honestly wasn't planning on attending the concert, but this has certainly changed my mind. Thank you for reminding us of the power of this group!
For the critics above, how often do you actually step IN the West End. It has been underdeveloped for decades; now that someone is finally building it up, you're criticizing it. This is nothing like Atlanta where monstrosities begot more monstrosities. It is a neighborhood that has been abandoned and now has some hope. Their properties are beautiful...wth are you talking about? When you actually invest and interact in the West End, then you have a right to criticize...until then, hop up 400 to your mega mall and suburban, isolated dream.
