Re: “300: Go tell the Spartans

Shame that all these cerebrally challenged rednecks don't seem to know that Greece spent most of its later history under Ottoman (Turkish) control. Therefore notions of Sparta's 300 saving the West and creating America are a bit far-fetched to say the least. Maybe they are all too overwhelmed by the homo-erotic spectacle of so many oiled-up acting luvvies...perhaps too much blood has drifted southwards for them to think properly. I agree with other contributors who suggest that such films ease people into the idea that a war with Iran is 'sort-of justified, cos of what the film tells us Persians were like' Obviously anyone of normal IQ can see the film for what it really is - a bit of harmless fun, but Americans (who can be made to believe that they are being invaded by Martians, on the strength of a radio serial) are clearly not emotionally mature enough to be allowed to watch such material without being accompanied to the cinema by an adult, preferably European.
