Re: “Gun-toting in Georgia

The Brady Center statistics on crimes by Texas firearms permit holders is very misleading. How many of those offenses were felonies involving a firearm? My sense is if they told you, you would find out, once again, that firearm violations by permit holders are much lower than the general population. Second, less than one-half of permit holders actually carry most or all of the time. That is, about 100,000-150,000 regular carriers. Georgia Carry Organization is a great resource for Georgians and protects our Constitutional, individual right to own firearms. This is quite different from various politicians, especially city mayors, who substitute their own anti-gun sentiments for the U.S. Constitution and Georgia code. As a result, cities like D.C., Chicago, New York and San Francisco have effectively denied 2nd amendment rights to most of their residents. Now THAT is a crime. Chicago is about to find out what the legal theory of incorporation is, and how the 14th amendment affects the 2nd in all 50 states, and not just the federal enclave of D.C. Smart money is on Alan Gura and David Sigale, Esq. Yes, the same Gura as in D.C. v Heller. Despite the political pundits, gun control and 2nd amendment rights will be brought to the forefront of the election in November. Thank you GCO and SAF for your fine work protecting America from fools who would disarm the law-abiding in foolish fantasies to reduce violent crime against residents in our republic.

Re: “Bang! You're sued

Mayor Boomberg is blaming other states for crime in New York. Anti-gun zealots are satisfied with nothing less than federal registration, confiscation and destruction of all handguns in the U.S. It makes a lot of sense to disarm all the citizens who have FBI background and often local sheriff checks to get a license. Last time I looked, most criminals could not pass a background check, they will steal guns, import them, and like Bloomberg and his goons, do straw purchases to get a weapon. It is bad when Bloomberg, Feinstein and their ilk decide to circumvent the law for their personal agenda. They are cowards and hypocrites. They have government and/or personal protection and some like Feinstein have carry permits. Apparently they understand their role in self-protection and of their family, but would deny this to other law-abiding citizens of our republic. They disrespect the 2nd amendment and have never learned that it was the tyranny of government against its citizens that the framers of the Constitution had in mind. They have an even harder time understanding that guns save lives and carry states are having lower rates of violent crimes. My sense is they are misguided idiots with a political agenda.
