far and gone are the days when my taste buds can fearlessly eat some of the things i ate as a youngster(lets say a tub of butter, or a german chocolate cake in one sitting) but spam is one of those things that has not been lost, like my love of raw oysters or sushi. spam has always been a boring, pantry-lifer, sitting there getting looked over and feeling lonely. well, the first time i went to waikiki's i saw the spam masubi(spelling?) and immediately became interested in it. i ordered it and it came in the form of a hand roll with a tiny bit of some ponzu or teriyaki sauce and my girlfriend and i both were very pleasantly surprised. one of my last times there i ordered the spam with eggs and gravy and loved it. think of it as a steak and eggs substitute. kinda funny the reviewer goes to a hawaii'n restaurant and has never heard of them serving spam(must not get the travel channel or food network). ok, just wanted to get someone else on the board here sticking up for something that doesn't deserve to be bashed on.
