Re: “The Veggie Patch

The subtitle of this article "James Bouchard’s local farm does not have that annoying organic pricing" made my stomach turn, and not from hunger. I have long trusted the CL writers as intelligent eaters and supporters of growers of good food, but describing the price of organic food as "annoying" insults our organic farmers who are the backbone of a healthy local food system. It is good to see more bounty of local produce, but please consider respecting the livelihoods of our farmers when choosing your angle.

Re: “The amazing Super Pan

Dear Mr. Mambo,

You might consider the worth of meat from humanely raised and processed animals and the fact that you are supporting a family business that presents beautiful products with bread and ingredients carefully crafted by one of Atlanta's most talented chefs and his staff when you consider your food dollar choices.

When you buy a $4 sandwich from Arby's you are contributing to the denigration of the environment as factory farms are a leading contributor to greenhouse gas pollution, to the exploitation of humans working in meatpacking plants and to the general strip-mall-ization of America.

For me, a SuperPan sandwich is worth the $11-12 for lunch.
