As a parent of two addicts, I know the pain and suffering you have endured, and the joy of seeing the world once again with bright eyes. I am intimately acquainted with the concerns and pain your parents have also endured. I believe in change and I have slowly come to know what I can change and what I cannot change as I trod the path
of recovery, for it is not just the addict who is in recovery, but also the family if they choose to do so.
Today you did not drink and that is enough for we have only the present in which to live. God Bless you and your family and I keep in my heart and mind, all those who are still out using and have not found the courage to get the help they need. Name withheld
