Or maybe the Reed's airport contracts shenanigans have started a federal investigation and the White House knows about it?

Hall leaves out a very important detail. The city entered into the contract in the midst of the great recession. At the time they were furloughing public safety officers and needed the additional revenue.
My hunch is that the city still needs the money. If Hall is serious his proposal to cancel the contract should include an alternative revenue source to make up for the lost dough.

@ Eric, this is a guy who was showing up on crime scenes when he ran for mayor in the middle of a "crime wave". If last week was any indication, we are in the middle of another "crime wave".
Shop owner killed in VA Highlands. GSU soccer student gets killed in Grant Park. And a restaurant owner and friend of the mayor gets killed on Boone Blvd.
Where was the mayor? Or does he only show up when it's time for elections?

Reed is politicking on MTP in Washington and GSU students are getting killed in Atlanta. What's wrong with that picture?
