Like the article says, I think heroin is more prevalent in the suburbs than people really know about. My ex-girlfriend is a heroin user. I myself have never did any type of drug so I can't identify with the cravings that they go through. I didn't know she was using heroin when we started dating. When I found out, I dumped her and then wanted to help her. She is still fighting the addiction and in the process of trying to get clean. I still care for her in a friend kind of way but I honestly doubt she will ever get clean. I hope she proves me wrong. She is only 24. I have offered her help many times and still will when I can. I hope she doesn't end up another statistic here in the suburbs. Great article by the way. It really hit home.
