It's simple, the paper relies on advertising to survive. More and more jobs are being outsourced, as a result people don't have money to spend, no more disposable income, hell no money to pay mortgages. Without customers, stores that advertise in the paper cut back on advertising, or close all together. All the deregulation that has allowed this outsourcing has brought america to it's knees.
