Picking Clinton was a brilliant, though a bit machivallian, move by President Obama. As Sec-State she can not run against him in four years in the primary elections. Remember that Carter almost lost his own party's ticket in 1979 before losing to Regan later that year.

In 8 years she well be John McCain's current age and thusly a bit old to seek the presidency. Looks like her window of opportunity to be president has passed.
