I agree with the previous comment. This article is SO much more constructive than the usual S&S-style hate-journalism. What this town needs is less shit talk from bitter old men. The hipster crowd will always eat that shit up, because the hipster loves nothing more than laughing at the less hip. It makes him/her feel empowered. This really has nothing to do with music, but it ends up hurting the music scene. When I first moved to Atlanta, I wasted a lot of time wondering why I wasn't deemed cool enough by the in-crowd. It wasn't until I gave up on 'em & went on the road that my band got anywhere. That seems to be a golden rule in this town. Why do Atlanta bands still have to 'make it' in NYC or Europe first? I dunno, we just do. And, whatever their intentions, I doubt VICE magazine is gonna change much.
