My husband and I were both looking forward to trying Parish. After the experience, on the good side: attentive service, nice wine, great oysters (raw), and good bread. On the bad side: mushy fish, mediocre-to-bad steak. The mushy fish was supposed to be glazed with maple glaze (prolly should not have ordered) but instead covered in marple-y, surgary crumbles. That with cheese grits was an unappetizing mushy plate of food. It was also one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. I rarely bother to review restaurants because I am lazy but the food was overthought, over wrought, and all wrong on the textures. Too bad, because we loved the dining room.
