Re: “Soul Vegetarian Restaurant No. 2

So we went to eat at the one in Virginia Highlands because of all the great reviews. I am a vegetarian, but my husband is not. I thought this was a vegetarian restaurant, so I figured there would at least be mac and cheese or mashed potatoes or something he would eat. It is a VEGAN restaurant, and none of their food contains animal products. It was okay, but all in all, I wasn't really impressed. We had the eggless salad as an appetizer (which I thought was awful), and the orange lentil soup (very nice, and spicy), and I had the gyro, which actually must have been sweetened with something which was weird. My husband tried the 'chicken fried steak with mac and cheese and broccoli' the mac was weird, the steak was okay, but I've had better 'fake steak.' All in all I was really disappointed. There are so many other excellent places to eat in the Highlands, I really didn't feel like it was worth the trip.
