Some time ago my mother, aunt, sister and I visited the Flying Biscuit on Johnson Ferry rd in Marietta. I have to say I was highly disappointed. I had been waiting weeks for the restaurant to finaly open and only to find that the menu and food where horrible. I am not a southern by birth but I have come to love the biscuits of the south and this was not a good example of what one should be. The biscuit was way too sweet and hard. I could have knocked someone out with it or used it for sweet tea. I ordered the Piedmont Omelete which was ok but very runny. The pancakes were different and hearty but I dont think oatmeal is a good base for pancakes. Frankly I felt the menu was too selective. I mean Im not the biggest meat eater in the world but I would like something more then turkey bacon for breakfast. And for four people to spend over $60 for breakfast is ridiculous. There are better breakfast places for way less money. As far as the service was concerned, our waiter was attentive and always to be found when needed. Two things that will forever turn me off from this particular restraurant is that there were no tongs in the sugar jar and a waitress in training was told not to wipe down the tables with disinfectin if it looked clean. This was just gross.
