I was recently a guest of a friend that invited me to a Atlanta Photo group meeting at Elliot Street Pub. We arrived at 7:30pm and ordered a $8 sandwich, which was pretty tasty despite the price, being bread heavy, the plain deli white paper wrapping, and no sides, and a $3/drink honor system beer that was so foamy my friends opted for bottled beer for the rest of the evening.
Around midnight, while I was waiting for the photo shoot outside to wrap, I bought another $3 honor beer ($4.50 with tip) and I put $5 in the jukebox. Almost immediately after paying, Michaelm one of the owners, turned off the music and told me they were closing. I asked if I could finish my beer and listen to the jukebox on low volume since I just paid for the music and beer.
He tossed me a $1, came around the bar, and said since I wasn't a local, he didn't care and forcibly pushed me out of the bar onto the street. MY two friends were there at the time and were astonished at his behavior.
If you enjoy a crime ridden neighborhood, inadequate parking, downtown Atlanta traffic, overpriced food, foamy beer, and some serious attitude- this is the dead end hole for you!
Avoid Michael like the plague!
